Just joined the forum today so I thought I'd stick my head round the door by way of a hello.
Quick rundown on myself. I am UK based ( check out my IP for exact location ) but spend a fair bit of my time travelling Europe with the day job - warranty work on superyachts and other 'tupperware class' boats. My downtime is spent nurturing the Ltd company I have just set up with my wife in the hope it will generate more money than the day job. We specialise in R&D work on sporting firearms and are in the process of trying to get our latest creation to the manufacturing stage; we are hoping to set up a strategic partnership with an existing manufacturer to add to their product range.
I shoot regularly but not as much as I'd like too.
As I am aware of the forum rules I felt I should enter into the spirit of things and post up a picture of one of my rifles this one is the 'Sawfly' designed and built by myself
Sorry about the size of this pic. This is the prototype of the rifle; it is a .22lr bullpup and draws its influence from fairly obvious sources, the donor rifle started out as an Anschutz model 520 before I reworked it.
I know bullpups are not everyone's bag, so feel free to rip into it if you wish (actually I would welcome the unvarnished truth if it is regarded as crap - I call it real world market analysis.....)

I'd like to see your work but the link/attachment didn't work for me?
One of our mods is heading your way. Maybe you can show him your wares in real time.

We are limited to certain calibres and types of firearm, quantities and types of ammunition held, not to mention where we can and cannot shoot...in a small country with a population of 70 million this can be a problem.
Basically you have to have a licence before you go gun shopping and then you can only purchase the calibre firearm that is listed on the 'ticket'. If you want something else then you have to apply to the police for a variation...wait for them to say yes....then go shopping again. Basically the legislation is there to seemingly make people give up because of the convoluted hassle they have to endure, just to pursue their chosen sport.
When I applied for my first licence after living abroad for some years, I requested every calibre possible, the maximum amount of ammunition allocations and included moderators for all the calibres applied for; I expected to have to justify all this but never in my wildest dreams did I expect the Police to say "Yes, that's fine by us", I guess being a former armourer in the British Army does carry some weight after all.
My ticket is now classed as 'open' which means that I can with permission shoot on private land other than at approved ranges. Each 'permission' has to be applied for individually and also has to be inspected by the police to see if it was suitable for the type of gun to be used on it - so on a flat five acre field without a suitable backstop, there's not a chance in hell that it would be approved for a .308, but a .22lr would be ok. My .308 Parker Hale, currently is only able to be used abroad or on our local ranges.
Anything else, just ask. If I don't have the answer I'll find out for you and respond.

do you like gladiator movies?
You are one of them.
I did get to handle a Kriss Vector at the IWA-show earlier this month and TBH I don't rate them very highly, they handle like an unbalanced briefcase and look like an unfinished lawmower part. ( I wouldn't accept one as a gift )

"The Un-Tactical"
Ok, you've done your lurking, and being in the Army, that answers the "Grown Man Nekkid" question.....since you're a Metric Misfit, I'll leave out the .270 query.......and being a Brit, it's not fair to ask "Marlin or Winchester".........That leaves the touchiest of questions...........Cats! Friend or foe?
I've always had an interest in bullpups, a 270, 280, or 30-06 with a 26" bbl would be a great hunting rifle, but i've never built one. One of these days, maybe.

They're especially tasty when pan fried and served with a cranberry jus, on a bed of spinach. Although if we're talking P***y then the answer is still YES!
I'm more of a dog person - 2 Lab Collie cross's, retired working dogs.

Hadn't put in the safety lever at that point, so used a cardboard template to gauge proportions.
(hope these upload ok, I'm working with a PMS prone laptop and a typically British internet connection.)
