My dog is a better turkey hunter than..
I am.
Been out and calling, best I did was a gobbler waaaaaaaaaaaay north, and one waaaaaaaaaaaay south.
Go out to hang a target so I can shoot the 03AFaux, and Ben, the Labrador Observer, gets all birdie and flushes a turkey 60 feet off the trail, less than 200 feet from the barn.

It's boring, and your lack of creativity knows no bounds.

But don't feel too bad. That's just what dogs do. And it's another reason they're called man's best friend.
Son that's somebody with nothing to do with his time but keep me in trouble with mom.
Took the yellow lab for a run on one of the local trails back in Jan. or Feb., let her off the leash and was stowing it in a pocket. Looked up, no yellow lab. That is when I heard the sound of a flock of turkeys being mugged. I whistled and called for her, she came trotting right back with a very pleased look on her face. Lots of praise for the less than one year old at that point.

That is against his nature. He is Ben, the Labrador Observer. He is outstanding at watching Mavis, the black Labrador Retriever collect anything that falls from the sky or rolls on the ground. But to actually do it, well, we have adopted a word in our house. Benergy. EG "I slept till noon. Used up a lot of Benergy." Sleeping on the couch is now "Being Benergetic" Now he does play hard with Buddy the coyote blend, AKA the meth Lab, and triple team stick carry should be a doggie Olympic sport. But to fetch on his own? 5 times a month if you are lucky, and you have a Hartz duck.
