Obamacare at work
Just a update on how the (un) affordable care act is working in western PA.
A sandblaster at scouts lost his employer sponsored insurance, so thats 5 people, hubby wife 3 kids, who have lost their insurance.
My wife just had her hours cut from 37 w/ot, to 27.
Thanks you lib {expletive deleted}

It's boring, and your lack of creativity knows no bounds.

Somebody got to pay, and those paying for their insurance now will either pay more, or they will be kicked off existing insurance and have to go with the insurance crap put together by the government. And it will not be cheap for those that can pay for the insurance from the insurance exchanges. And they've already run out of money for the preexisting condition pool of people. BOHICA.

The main difference will be WHO is going to be uninsured. It is going to shift from the lower to lower middle class to the middle and upper middle class, and from the older part of the population to the younger. The people who are the most insurable in any kind of sane system are the ones who are going to be opted out or opting out. That's just going to increase the prices for the people who are covered even more.
The only way I can have access to health insurance is through a job, since group plans don't take pre-existing conditions into account. I'm an independent contractor, so there's no insurance at work.
So I can't get insurance on my own, even though I'm willing and able to pay for it, Obamacare has pretty much ensured that employers won't be offering affordable health insurance anymore, which leaves me no option other than paying the fine for not having health insurance. Someone PLEASE tell me how Obamacare is a good thing!
The only thing I can hope is that, as the various parts of Obamacare are implemented, and people start to see what a steaming pile it is, that there will be real demand in the Congress to change and/or abolish it.

...and be as fair and helpful as the IRS.
...and when Obamacare fails miserably, they will of course say it was because it was not set up as single payer (the government, of course) and we will see all the same gangster tactics used by Pelosi and Reed to cram Obamacare down our throats for single payer...if they are in power.
