My wife just had her hours cut from 37 w/ot, to 27.

Thanks you lib {expletive deleted}

    Somebody got to pay, and those paying for their insurance now will either pay more, or they will be kicked off existing insurance and have to go with the insurance crap put together by the government. And it will not be cheap for those that can pay for the insurance from the insurance exchanges. And they've already run out of money for the preexisting condition pool of people. BOHICA.

    This is only the beginning. Once Ovomitcare is fully implemented, people will find out what a monstrosity this really is. It really is a plan that will eliminate insurance from the medical care market and turn it into single payer government insurance. This was the intention from the start. Demo-dirtbags have been lying all along.

    Socialism, pure and simple. Transfer the cost from those who make, to those who take. It fits his view of the world.

    Nope, this is a lot worse. This is running productive people to the govt for handouts.

    I work with health insurance all the time... Estimates I've heard are that the number of uninsured right now is about 20 million. The estimated number that will be uninsured after implementation of Obamacare? About 20 million. While a few people who are currently uninsurable due to preexisting conditions will be able to get insurance, just as many people who have insurance coverage now will lose it because insurance costs are going to between double to triple for most people. Many employers will no longer be able to pay for coverage, so they will just drop their plans. In order to not be penalized, many companies will lay off employees to get under the minimum number needed to be exempt. Many other companies will reduce the hours of employees to below full time so they don't have to pay benefits. Many companies that keep their coverage plans will be forced to dramatically increase the amount that employees pay to the point where employees may not be able to afford to keep their coverage, or at least that it may be cheaper to pay the "fine" for not having coverage.

    The main difference will be WHO is going to be uninsured. It is going to shift from the lower to lower middle class to the middle and upper middle class, and from the older part of the population to the younger. The people who are the most insurable in any kind of sane system are the ones who are going to be opted out or opting out. That's just going to increase the prices for the people who are covered even more.

    Then you've got people like me who are stuck right in the middle. I have a pre-existing condition. It's not a serious one, nor is it life-threatening. I have to see a specialist once a year and eat a pill every day. Yet, when insurance companies see me list the condition on an application, they run the other way. Plus, it's one of the exempt pre-existing conditions under Obamacare, so they can continue to discriminate against me as they always have.

    The only way I can have access to health insurance is through a job, since group plans don't take pre-existing conditions into account. I'm an independent contractor, so there's no insurance at work.

    So I can't get insurance on my own, even though I'm willing and able to pay for it, Obamacare has pretty much ensured that employers won't be offering affordable health insurance anymore, which leaves me no option other than paying the fine for not having health insurance. Someone PLEASE tell me how Obamacare is a good thing!

    The only thing I can hope is that, as the various parts of Obamacare are implemented, and people start to see what a steaming pile it is, that there will be real demand in the Congress to change and/or abolish it.

    ...and be as fair and helpful as the IRS.

    ...and when Obamacare fails miserably, they will of course say it was because it was not set up as single payer (the government, of course) and we will see all the same gangster tactics used by Pelosi and Reed to cram Obamacare down our throats for single payer...if they are in power.
