Sold it. A friend of mine loved that gun so I let him have it. I still make ammo for him because factory 308 is punishing in that gun. You load it like a howitzer a unique gun for sure. I was going to keep it but I couldn't find a 223 or 22-250 barrel. The draw back with that gun is the barrel is the serial # part.
Just look at the flowers Lizzie, just look at the flowers.
I've loaded the. 308win. for my Rem. 700 with about every bullet going except the 125 gr.
No personal experience, but a neighbor who tried some Remington 125G. .30-06 ammo on deer found that he got big surface wounds with not much penetration, and lost several well-hit deer. He was trying to reduce the recoil of his Remington pump rifle after some back surgery. When I fixed him up with some 130 grain Hornady spire point reloads, he went right back to "one shot one kill" hunting, with even better success than his previous 150 G factory ammo was producing.
I'd recommend using the 125's and lighter .30 caliber bullets for something smaller-bodied than whitetail deer, based on that anecdotal experience

At the somewhat reduced velocities of the .308 compared to the -06, you might have better luck. Hope so! My buddy lost a couple of nice bucks to his 125's.

Bullet jacket construction might have a huge effect, also. The 125's my friend was using were apparently sort of a varmint-type load for folks who didn't have a more suitable cartridge for groundhogs, crows, etc. They were whizbang fast, and apparently had a pretty thin jacket. We tried as couple on 1-gallon milk jugs full of water and the impact was pretty explosive. The 130's were giving pass-through hits, bang/flop kills with everything inside the chest cavity pretty much turned to mush.

Zee is using SST's as opposed to Vmax's so I am going to assume (and we all know what happens when we assume) that the 125gr SST will hold up fine as a hunting bullet-- but that is pure speculation.
Reason obeys itself; and ignorance submits to whatever is dictated to it.
I would think most of the bullet would have be copper if so.
With a 16 inch barrel, you are loosing about 400-500 FPS ?
Sierra makes the Prohunter in a 125 grain spire point.
Sierra Match King for the 300 ACC Blackout in 125 grain really pointy point. (really pointy point is a technical term, M K?)
Closest Barnes makes is the Triple Shock X bullet at 130 grains.
The .308 Lone Eagle with 150 grain bullets is a handful on recoil, but the .223 is not so bad, but they could both benefit from an efficient brake. I finally got a 4X scope I like on the .22 Hornet and, due to the weight, it has hardly any recoil at all, and very little muzzle rise.

Pics of the gun?

I asked a question about too light for 1:10 about a month ago, Pegasus was saying he had issues with 110gr at 1:12....
I would like to know how these turn out for ya...
Running them through a 16" heavy 1-9.35" twist barrel. I'll be sure to post results. Good or bad.
Hmmmm.... Don't drop the soap.
Son that's somebody with nothing to do with his time but keep me in trouble with mom.

Do they make thick jacketed 125's for .30?
