Pocket Pistol Porn!

ZeeZee Posts: 28,410 Senior Member
I'm talking about GUNS! The kind that shoot bullets and use smokeless powder inside of brass cases. So, put it away, CPJ........we ain't interrested.

The other thread about the "Mowing Gun" got me thinking..........I don't have a pocket pistol! I have a pocket revolver, but not a pistol. Other than the Glock 27 and HK P2000sk. Neither of those are pocket pistols. They are sub-compacts. I might need to fix this oversight and get a tiny 9mm or something.

So, let's see your Pocket Pistol Porn!!

Show me what ya got and tell me how ya like it. Inspire me!

(NO CPJ........put it away! I'm still talking about GUNS!)

    ...so is he!:yikes:

We have his and her's Kahr p380's with night sights. I also have a Kahr PM40. If I were to do it again, I would get the PM9 just because they are a bit smaller and there isn't all that much different ballisticly between a 9mm and a .40 now days anyway. Camera is in the truck. I am undressed. You will have to wait until tomorrow unless you want pictures of my "gun" too.

    I can't play......but I'm going to anyway. :tooth:

I owned a 9mm Shield for several months. I bought it with the intention of using it as a back-up pocket rocket, alas, t'wasn't to be. It was just too big to pocket carry and if I'm going to stick something on my belt, it's going to be a double-stack 9mm of some sort.

    Shield010.jpg

Even though the J-Frame has basically the same footprint, and is much thicker, it just carries in a pocket much better than the Shield did. I'll eventually get a smaller 9mm (CM9 probably) for a back-up gun, but for now I'll stick with the J-Frame.

Somebody actually BOUGHT that thing after you took after the grip with a branding iron?

Hell, not only did the guy buy it, he gave me a bit more than $100 more than I paid for it in the first place!

Nice .22s there Rimfire. Pretty cool how you can switch the parts between both.

380? 9mm? Something a wee bit bigger then a pocket pistol in 40 or 45? Its a hot market still, lots of choices. What options are you demanding? Lock open on empty, external safety, DAO, SA? Price?

I really like the Sig pocket guns, the P238 and P938, if a SA and a tiny bit more money is your thing. I also have been impressed with the S&W Bodyguard. The Ruger LCP makes a decent gun for the money. Even a Kel-Tec P3AT or P11 have their place as no frills, very small guns. The Kahr guns are great as well, I'd go 380 or 9mm, the 40 IMO was too much of a good thing in a small package. Never fired the 45 version but its on my want list. As is the Springfield XD-S for what it is.

I bought the first Shield my LGS got in, and I love it! It's a wee bit larger than a true pocket pistol, but it slips into a jeans hip pocket when I walk the dogs.

    And I do have a Kel-Tec P32 that's a true pocket piece, but I haven't carried it much lately.

I got this about 20 years ago and enjoy shooting it. Little did I know that Illinois would be the last state to allow its citizens to carry them!

My little 32 Tomcat has spent a couple of years in my front or back pocket as a primary when I'm wearing light clothing or BUG when I'm carrying a 1911. I also have the 22 version but don't carry it any longer. A pleasure to shoot and the tip up barrel makes clearing the chamber a snap. The trigger is smooth and follow up shots in single action are easier to keep centered, and faster, because of the short trigger pull.

    DSC01191.jpg

The Micro Desert Eagle in 380 is smaller but I don't carry it as often as the Tomcat. The magazine has unseated itself while in my pocket, on two occassions and makes me a little uncomfortable carrying it. I think it's a common trait since my BIL's Micro does the same thing. I find myself putting my hand in the pocket and pushing the mag to confirm in ready when I carry it. Very "snappy" when firing and as all DAO handguns, has a long trigger pull. Accurate and fast follow up shots take practice because of the long trigger pull.

The pocket pistol thing just depends on the terrain and the situation.
A 4" XDm works well with a proper cover garment, a baby eagle is better and
that means there are sigs and CZs that will work as well.

    A bersa thunder fits better.

I personally would carry a revolver because spare ammo in speedstrips are easier
to carry and deal with lint and no lumps on your belt.

The biggest issue for me is to have enough gun to hold on to, a real small pistol
will fit a pocket well, but, if the shooter has hands too big for it; he won't be able to
shoot it well enough except from "get them off me" range.

Uhm Jeremy, I can lay wife's PM9 and my PM40 side by side and there isn't ANY difference in size I can find, other than bore diameter.

So I'd love to see where the 9 & 40 differ in size.

    Here's my PM40
    100_1381.jpg

According to Kahr the difference in size is miniscule. OAL of 5.47" vs 5.42", slide thickness of .94" vs .90".

I have a little Keltec P3AT for when in shorts and flip flops but carry a 9mm shield in a ramora holster for the most part. Zee i always thought Eli was ruining his guns but after handling and shooting his Glock at the SE shoot i have to say i was wrong. While not pretty his self upgrade felt good while shooting the pistol

In that case I would seriously look into getting a Kahr. They are about the smallest consistently reliable 9mm on the market. I really love the looks and feel of the Diamondback DB9, but their quality control is spotty, at best.

My J-frame is my pocket pistol, I thought you had one of those? Any reason you are not going with a mini-Glock?

I had a Kahr K9 for a long time, and really liked it. It was accurate, reliable, and hid perfectly under a loose T-shirt. Only reason I sold it was to fund an M&P9 Compact when they came out, and at the time I couldn't afford both.

Chickens have HORRIBLE skin and their legs are scaly.

Sorry if my comment came across all "prison-rapey" Wambli.

I shot a Kahr CM9 today and loved it. Joe and Jeremy told me the differences between the CM and PM but it was 4:30 in the morning and I was blitzed so I don't remember. But I'm definitely getting a Kahr in 9mm soon.

I like the Diamondback, but know nothing about them other than holding one in a store.

That's the size I'd like to get, though.
