What center-fire rifle calibers do you shoot/reload fer?

Big ChiefBig Chief Posts: 32,995 Senior Member
Mine are mainstream, but a few military that aren't so much an everyday caliber. Of course, I reload for them all and have multiple rifles in some calibers.

.233......................... surprise surprise

.30 Carbine

7.62X54R

6.5X55 Swedish

7.5 Swiss

.303 British

8mm Mauser

.308 Win

8X56R Steyr Mannlicher

I don't own a 30-06 , yet!

    204 Ruger

    222 Remington

    243 Winchester

    284 Winchester

    7mm Remington Magnum

    308 Winchester

    338x284

I used to shoot and load for a 270 Winchester, but no longer have one of those. I even gave a 50 round bag of brand new Winchester brass to Linefinder for him to use.

Wow, you guys have some interesting calibers that run the gamut from small bores all the way up to some heavy thumpers and everything and anything in-between. :guns::guns:

Oh, I forgitted I also own/reload for the 7.62X39 Russian, as well.

OK, only a couple of .270s listed ??? :tooth: One an 'ICL" ?????

ICL - improved cartridge loading - two types, the short was a .257 necked up to .270, long one .270 WIN. (mine) similar to the AI but with a 45* sholder, came out in the late 40s or early 50s, pushed a 150gr bullet at 3150fps, Clymer made the reamers.

The .50 BMG cost me about $2.50 - $3.00 per round, 210 -230gr of powder back in the early 90s.

Why pushing a 150 grain pill @ 3150 FPS is what some are talking about doing with "Modern" wildcats/cartridges?

Chief, can you get any of those Hornady Critical Defense bullets for for your .30 Carbine? That looks like an interesting combo.
