Generic loaner big game rifle... Actually, now that I think about it, I could go quite a bit cheaper for something to serve that purpose and get a longer barrel. Personally, if I have something that takes a 300 Win mag to shoot, I am going to use a .338.

I have a howa in 30-06, while it is not a big bore....I do love that rifle.

Snake, Mine is a battle field pick up. It was spotrerized with a Birds eye maple manlicher stock. I added a Timney trigger. It was reamed for the reason you mentioned, that, you couldn't get 6.5 **** brass. It wears a 3x9 Redfield now and shoots about 1.5 inches at 100 yards. I have no real need for this rifle other than it looks good and is very unique. The rifling in these **** rifles is also very unique.

The 7 TCU is a custom Remington Model Seven with a 20 inch barrel and kevlar stock. It pushes a 140 gr bullet 2400 fps and is a very efficent 200 yard deer rifle for areas that I don't want to make a lot of noise. It wears a 2x7 Leupold VXII. It's also very light and quick handling with extreamly light recoil.
I like Elmer Keith; I married his daughter

If I like a gun or caliber, I like it and it's MINE so each to his/her own. Differnt Strokes (on the reloading press) fer different folks. :tooth::guns:
It's only true if it's on this forum where opinions are facts and facts are opinions

Thats why you never put a "x#" in a public forum where your wife could see it.
    RE: Zed
After last week. Someone in the house would kill me anyway. But, I can dream.
I built a nice rifle rack in the mancave, about 5 feet long. Didn't realize the error until Wife 1.0 walked in and stared at it, full, yet not quite long enough.

"Umm, those are the kids rifles, yeah, thats the ticket."
