Barnaul bullets for 223 in 55g with a steel case

as the post suggests, what is this ammo like - good, bad, nasty, avoid like the plague etc etc

    I only have some Barnaul in .7.62X54R 203 grain SPs. I bought 500 rounds back when to shoot in my Mosin Nagant's. If you have fired steel cased ammo before, you shouldn't have any trouble with it no more than with Wolf brand and its ilk. I think the lacquer coating gave some folks some issues when it gummed up their rifle chambers, semi-autos. Newer Wolf is "Poly" coated. other that that and what some say about it being steel and hard on extractors...... it's non corrosive and should shoot a tad or more better than most surplus.

    I've never had any issues firing Wolf from my SKS.
