Have any of you seen this?

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/uva-girl-water-beer-jail-181104442.html

Gets scared when the ABC cops jump on her hood of her car, so she drives off. Arrested for assault on police officers. They kindly dropped the charges after she got to spend a night in jail. Normally I am not one to bash on my donut eating brethren, but this is just ridiculous.

Yeah, I saw this a couple days ago. The cops were in plain clothes. They didn't even ask her if she was 21.

A gang of men approach my car, jump on my hood, and brandish a weapon; people are gonna die. The guy on my hood first and then likely me. If they shoot like LAPD I'll have a good chance at surviving!

Late at night in supermarket parking lot. Carload of young ladies. Bunch of ABC clowns in plainclothes go bat scat nuts acting like storm troopers and looking like possible robbers/rapists. She did the right thing; for all she knew, they were there to do her harm. And as to them drawing their weapons, they are a bunch of chicken squat cowards; six of them against one gal. What a bunch of brainless fools. As to the vehicular assault, if you're so Richard Cranium STUPID to stand in front of a moving vehicle, you NEED a set of tire tracks from crotch to crown. That vehicular assault from standing in front of a moving vehicle is nothing but a coward's excuse to shoot someone. I'm done.

Does that goon squad have an email or a phone number? If flooding politicians' switchboards works, why not a concentrated phone and email campaign against the JBT's?

If things happened as written, I can think of seven 'officers' who need to update their res-ooo-mays. What a Charlie Foxtrot!

Even if things didn't happen as written, why in hell did they need eight officers (one in the chase car that finally pulled her over) to do ABC checks?!? If a department can afford eight officers to do that, then maybe budget problems aren't quite as bad as we've been led to believe? An operation like that can't be cheap to run....

I read another article that said the cops confirmed the events happened as stated. I'll dig up the link.

    EDIT: Link found.

Charlottesville Commonwealth's Attorney Dave Chapman read Daly's account and said it was factually consistent

Goddess Mother, what a mess! I'm usually on the side of the LEOs, but these guys need to get a grip. And not on a pistol.

That is a heck of a lot of liquor control agents just to bust some underage kids buying alcohol. Nice priorities there.

Stimulus dollars at work? Either that, or a bunch of Volstead Act enforcers reincarnated! I'm surprised they didn't roll up in full SWAT gear, riding in an "Urban Assault Vehicle"!

Aw, c'mon guys - they were probably just bored. Or maybe they just wanted to meet some girls. I bet they all come from good families and have never been in trouble before. This is clearly a case of some Lara Croft wannabe, over-reacting to some mischievous behavior by our young protectors.

I'm surprised they didn't shoot her and say they were afraid for their lives after she "assaulted" them with her vehicle........ Big Chief

There's something to be said about having an "innocent frame of mind".
This poor kid probably was going about her day thinking nothing about what she just purchased, an probably scat her pants when a group of people swarmed her. I would have told my daughter to do the same thing.
Now, had she have bought alcohol underage, shed have probably been watching over her shoulder and at the slightest inkling of a cop, she would have probably given up.
Either way, what idiot LEO would jump on the hood of a car over an underage purchase?? And six agents?

I'm curious to know if the store had security video of the encounter, just to see the 'takedown' that never was....

    All aboard the Failboat!!!

I can't believe these Cops went this far over the top!!! And over a couple of College girls possibly buying some illegal beer, which turned out to be water. If I was their boss they might just be looking for OTHER employment by now.
    Daddy, what's an enabler?
Son that's somebody with nothing to do with his time but keep me in trouble with mom.

If a bunch of JBT's pulled anything remotely resembling something like that on me, I'd celebrate like I'd just won the lottery. On second thought, I doubt if I'd just "graze" a few of them, and probably end up dead for running them over!
