The transformation

On Memorial Day weekend my 7mm LRM looked like this:
7EampA_zps39ad6132.jpg
After that I took off the 7 LRM barrel and put on the 7WSM barrel. It turned in my best 10 shot group at a grand as well with a 8 inch group.
7WSM_zps2037f5dd.jpg
Then this afternoon, I took of the bench stock and put on the McRee.
Took off the 7WSM barrel and put on the 7LRM barrel.
Took of the original Gunwerks brake and put on a Holland Radial Brake.
The Sightron S-III 8-32 came off and on went a FFP Leupold 6.5-20 with Holland's all MOA ART Reticle.

Now the 7 LRM is ready for WTRC:cool2:

Until you see the broadside view with the 22" barrel. Go ahead, Ernie......post the other one.

(Actually looks pretty cool in the other picture non posted pic, I think.)

Just for you...I love you too:love:
I thought about chopping it, but I still have not done the load development with Retumbo yet.
I will take the added MV advantage for this comp for sure.
Also added a sling swivel stud in the back on the left side, so I can sling it up.

Yes, this is a switch barrel/switch stock SP.
My other barrel for this is a 6.5 Leopard (6.5 WSM).

Forgot to mention that the BAT action has an integral lug, so I don't have to have a pinned lug.
I wish all actions were like that.

    It is my loads.
My lot of H 1000 must be faster burning than there lot.
I had to drop one grain as I was getting some ejector marks.
But of the three different seat depths I tried the one that shot the best was the same as their factory ammo.
I will chronograph the ammo later on today or early in the morning.
Darrell should be here mid afternoon.

    MV of 2895 fps:cool2:
Guess I should have dropped it to 70 grains of H-1000.
Drop at 1000 yards with a 100 yard zero is 23.25 MOA.
Guesstimating a BC of .700 since I pointed the 180 Hybrids with a Whidden Bullet Pointing die.

    Couple of minor additions:
    LRMmods_zps21580aa1.jpg
Did a lot of field shooting out to 1K this morning and learned I have to keep a real light hold on the LRM for it to shoot lights out.
One time I held real light and was close and lightly got tagged on my head. That has not happened in a long time.
I typically will let anyone shoot my SP's, but this one gets aggressive from time to time:yesno:

Once I got to the grip hold figured out correctly on it we had three or four shots at a 1000 yards where the vertical was only around 3 inches.
That made the morning worth it.

A resin type nylon material-Light weight but it works.
It also has anti-microbials in it to improve harmonic consistency.

Some pics of confirming drops this past Thursday.
Here is 400 yards. The 7 LRM pretty much wiped out the dot I had painted for a aiming point. This was in the afternoon (second time confirming drops).
The smaller hit at 11:30 is from Darrell's AR-15. Darrell was my partner for the WTRC this past weekend:

Then here is at 1000 yards. We were confirming drops in the morning in this pic.
These are the last four shots at 1K:
    Last4shotsconfirmdrops1K_zpsb96c63f9.jpg
    Closeupconfirmdrops1K_zps281e33fe.jpg

Then we went back out and shot out to 1K again.
Had some small tweeking to do, but it was shooting very good.

Ernie, it's five weeks to go before Raton. Stop playing with these admittedly nice toys and get serious with a rifle.

    He doesn't have it yet.

I've noticed a trend where he waits until the very last minute to prep for a comp. Something about piss poor planning and all.

When you start in early to mid-March to build two Switch Barrel F-Class rifles it does tend to put you up against the wall.
As for the trend, it is hard to be stay consistent:cool2:
It will be a "last hour" project for sure. Sebastian started working on the stocks last week and Chuck should begin metal work this week.

    Peg,
Field shooting is where it is at for me. Field shooting with a SP!
The long-range Bench Specialty Pistol match is a lot of fun, but it is the one bench match I do every year.
I'm sure F-Class will be a great time as well, but it is still not field shooting, where there are no set distances, no flags, no sighters, no fancy bi-pods, fancy front rests, or rear bags with ears on them.
This does not mean I am not excited to do this for the first time. I would be more excited if I could legally use a SP.
I am looking forward to it and to meeting a bunch of guys I have corresponded with through the years and being able to spend time with Seb.

    Yadda, yadda, yadda.

Pistols are cute but rifles are the main thing. Wishing is for children. Just get cracking here and you still have to develop a load.

Last weekend, I loaded 400 rounds of match ammo for Raton to the very best of my abilities. I even threw a second scale into the mix to upgrade my Chargemaster. I am now loading to the grain of powder.

I have another 100 pieces of brass left to load for the local 1000yard August match and some extra for Raton.

Rifles are the main thing for some people...:jester: To each his own.
I'm pretty good at developing loads.
I have two Chargemaster's and I can access a third to make things really roll when needed.
