I have a couple that I use but this one is my favorite/ultimate one.
Make is Anschutz, Model is woodchucker, caliber is .22LR, Glass is an old Weaver 4x with fine crosshairs.
Also makes a great kids gun.
Crossman BB gun for size comparison
Ruger 10/22, Magnum Research carbon fiber barrel, Hogue stock, Leupold 2-7 rimfire scope, Power Custom target hammer, and a Volquarsen extractor. Still need an overtravel stop on the trigger. Whole rig weighs 5lbs

That will work....I haven't grouped mine but I had it out Sunday and the 12 year old was killing tacks with it.
I think he is confident now he can get them
I haven't squirrel hunted in 20 years. Much to my displeasure. But, I have any number of guns that would suffice for such. From a Ruger MKII or Charger to a CZ Scout or Zastava. They are all accurate enough for tree rats.
Now, if I just had tree rats and a place to hunt them.

I grew up in the desert, and we didn't have squirrels there. So, it's just not something I've ever got into. I think I've killed one in my whole life.
But, I do know where there's a good population of them, and it's only about a 45 minute drive from my house. The only problem is that they live in pines, and feed on pine cones or whatever they find in those pines, and taste like turpentine. I know this because my son killed a couple when he was young and I tried to eat them. Pretty rank.
I've got enough 22 rifles, though, as well as several shotguns that finding something to shoot one with would not be a problem.

Gun control laws make about as much sense as taking ex-lax to cure a cough.

You don't have tree rats over there? Lack of trees or what?

Few and far between in my local area. You could go to an oak mott and kill 2 squirrels. Effectively decimating the entire population in the immediate area. Kinda limits the day of fun. We don't have the large acres of hardwoods. There are some pecan groves. I see them in those. Just haven't asked permission to hunt those.

Sqeet....squirrel skeet.... not the first time I've seen them catapulted but always funny.
There are some good ones of them flying through the air after too
Glenfield 75, Bushnell Sportview 1.5-4.5x20mm scope. Will go to my youngest daughter as she begins life on her own post-college. I have a few years, she's a freshman this fall, and is going into pre-med.
Savage 24 S/A .22 lr over 20 gauge. In my hands only until my oldest can adopt her, same deal as above, although she is a senior this fall in elementary education.
In either case, replacements have been considered.

I see that YOU like nuts as much as HE did.

Next favorite is a Stevens Favorite .22 LR. Works on groundhogs, too.
Next favorite is a Ruger Model 96 lever action with a Green Mountain .17 Mach 2 barrel.
And last, but not least, a Charter Arms AR-7 with a new all steel barrel and barrel nut, and tricked out furniture. It's light and fast.

That would depend on the one making the request reminding me of that when the time comes around for the next shoot. :tooth:
