I think it's great. As a bonus, it's got Piers Morgan's knickers in a twist.

This is an imminently common sense solution, how did any bureaucratic agency ever come up with it? Way to go Arkansas!

Texas and other states have similar laws, but it still has to be approved by the individual school boards, and most of them are still shying away. So far, I've only heard of 2-3 in Texas, all of them in small rural school districts.

Actually we have Obama to thank for this. So far Obamacare has cost one Senator her job. There was such backlash that Republicans took the statehouse for the first time since Reconstruction. All these new laws do is let school boards, colleges, universities, churches, etc. decide if they want to be "gun free" or not.
What impresses me is all the training the school board is paying for.

Shortly after the Columbine shootings, several Middle Tennessee school boards quietly authorized certain administrators and teachers to arm themselves, mostly military veterans with combat experience. Of course, the major metropolitan areas such as Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, etc. would have nothing to do with anything so logical and effective!
