Met Antonio Last night

Last night my wife and I met Antonio and his Wife by the beach in Ft Lauderdale. It was kind of a quick get together as they were following a busy schedule.

To make a long story short, we met, ordered some drinks and the wife and I ordered some food as we had not had dinner yet. We talked about, well we talked about everything: what we do for work, guns, how things are different in the USA and Peru, shooting, the girls talked about girlie stuff and guns. Yes Antonio’s lovely wife is a shooter also!!! Much more so than my wife. Did I mention that we talked about guns and shooting?

Folks, after listening to Antonio explain what he has to go through to purchase a firearm and the regulations governing something as simple as how much and what type of ammo he can buy, It makes me realize just how good we have it here in America. The time went by much too quickly and next thing I knew it was getting late and the alarm going off at 0515 was not too many hours away. I thought the wife had picked up the check when she went to the ladies room and when I discreetly asked her she shook her head no. I waved to our waiter and he just smiled, waved back and said goodnight. Come to find out Antonio’s wife had snuck inside and took care of the tab for the table. Just goes to show what good people they are.

Yesterday I said that I was going to meet a fellow forum member, as of last night I say that I met a Friend. Antonio and Mrs. Thanks for your company last night, and hope to see you again before too much time goes by.

Lots of great forum members to meet and greet  and I hope I get the chance to come across many more than I already have.

I forgot to add: one of the things that we discussed is that next year Antonio and wifes vacation take place at the the time of the next SE Shoot. Teach think there is room for another two shooters? If they make it, Alec will still be the furthest traveler but it could officially be called the International SE Shoot.

Not sure we can change the name, if Alec comes back he will need a green card.

That would be awesome if he could make it!

Still on the run...little time to post.

We had a very nice evening yesterday. Both Diver and his wife were great for taking their time to meet us in such a rush. Hope this isn't the last opportunity, and too bad other members couldn't join us....maybe in our next trip back.

Would love to pay a visit to the TN. meeting in the near future. Diver told me that in the last one you all had a great time at Teach's and that the crowd is both funny and eager to shoot.....will have to plan it with time.

Chilean girls are treacherous! Jokes aside, since after the last time we were unable to meet anyone, the least we could do is having the drinks on us; the great time we had well deserved it.

Thanks again and hope we'll meet again maybe next year.:usa:

My bad. Understood you were also having moving issues, but that's no excuse. Didn't want to repeat last year's failed attemp to set up a meeting unless knowing I'd be able to secure some time (Try coming from a country where the average gun store is the size of a 7-11 and managing to get only 8 minutes to purchase stuff at a Bass Pro Shop) so had only that free night to fix something.

Will probably be back next year and will give you guys an earlier notice. We weren't supposed to come this time due to a pending business litigation with a former work partner back home, but since the results were finally scheduled to be released next month, we caught the 1st. plane available. Talk about living in a non-stop rush!

As stated before, we had a great time.

"Back on the chain gang"; great trip and nice new "real 3d" friends :tooth: . Now fooling locals in English saying that now I can't recall how to talk "in Mexican or whatever crap you dudes talk".
Lots of pending work and eager to be back on the range. Hope to return next year and thanks again for the nice company of Diver & his wife, along all the nice comments from the rest of the gang. :usa::usa::usa:

Sounds like a plan to me! A couple of members of that other website where Mary and I are moderators used to visit us on their way from Canada to their winter home in Florida and stay a couple of days, so we're accustomed to visitors from all over the place. An art teacher friend from England also visits on occasion when he's doing a series of seminars in the the USA. We consider it an honor that all of you go to the effort to visit our little part of the Tennessee backwoods!

Would be great to attend and enjoy good company & Jerry's hospitality, but next year might be impossible, since I owe a good friend of mine a visit to his home in Colorado. Will keep it in mind anyway and wait for the proper time.
