I know that Top Shot is kind of lame, but...........

My stepsons friend was over tonight and brought his paintball marker. Stepson got his out and the whole family (wife, me, daughter, son, and friend) proceeded to have a Top shot style comp with the paint balls. We had a great time and all got to spend some time together. His friend, who has some problems at home and has spent quite a bit of time at our place this summer, really took to it and even smiled. The show set a nice rule set for our game tonight. Just thought I'd share.

Sounds like you all had a good time! I happen to like the show, but I'm nobody's example...

Sort of a 'reality' show for shooters. Starts with ~ 16 shooters who are each eliminated in turn until the "Top Shot" (the winner) is named. Lots of cool guns, some pretty decent people too! Not near as much drama as other 'reality' shows...also a good thing!

I like Top Shot, it was much better this season without as much drama.

If I had the money I would build a shooting range that featured the targets and setups like the ones on the show. It would be a lot more fun than punching holes in paper like at most ranges.

If I had the money I would build a shooting range that featured the targets and setups like the ones on the show, as well as a Parrot rifle, original Gatling gun and a brace of Colt Lightnings to shoot there, just like the ones featured on the show.. It would be a lot more fun than punching holes in paper like at most ranges.

Top Shot has made phenomenal improvements since the first season.

I thought Hotchkiss was an axle drive system...

This season was a straight up shooting competition....what it should have been all along....the manufactured drama pretty much ruined it....

Guess I'm going to have to start watching again. I quit because of all unnecessary drama.

Top Shot has been discused here ad nauseaum, it seems it just became an item to be swept under the rug.

My personal take is that any show that presents firearm enthusiasts to the masses in a positive way is a win.
