Going up to the farm for bears. This year the corn is perfect. It is just turning milky and they are just starting to hit it.
I'll be able to hunt Friday evening and Saturday. Wish me luck....be nice if Ginger moved East

I like it less than deer but some friends like it more.
Like most anything I guess it is how it is prepared

Good luck for a successful hunt!

I tried bare hunting once but I got cold and had to go home, they should really do that in the summer time!

You have 6 shots, use them, then do a New York reload, with another one in your stash. If you are using the correct bullets, I know you are, then one will be enough, even on the "small eared" one.

Looks like you can shoot a pretty good lane there. What are you using?

The 41 mag pictured Earlier.......It's a lot of fun when you hear one in the corn already and sneak within a few yards of it and still can't see it.
To me it sounded a lot like you hunting hogs in the cane?

Narrow lane, you are not going to have much time, shoot fast and straight. Do you use a call of some sort to get them to pause and look?

No calls....main thing I use is my ears.
Bears have a very distinct approach. It will be a slow shot or no shot.
When one is already in the corn....You know it

OK, corn to woods, not woods to corn. When my friends have gotten bears off bait piles in Northern MN, they said it was completely un-nerving to have a bear just pop out of the woods to hit the bait pile, almost no clue they were there until they walked out.

It happens both ways.....It will be close enough on anything I'm going to shoot I'll hear it.
If it gets in too high up the edge.I'll play hide and seek with it

Oy! Buy the wife some chocolate and flowers before you hunt in case she has to wipe your butt for you while you recuperate.
