There is still a way to go on Giron with only 47% of precincts reporting at this time, but she is losing...

Love it! There just might be some hope for Colorado after all. If both the recalls are successful, that cuts the dummycrap majority down to one in the state senate.

What's the chance they might throw Chickenpooper out of office in 2014?

Anybody else notice that there's a very loud silence on all the news channels about this- - - - -including Fox? If a conservative ever gets recalled, even if he's the dogcatcher, it would be the lead story on all the networks!

This may have been the dirtiest political campaign I've ever seen. The smears and outright dishonesty coming from the Bloomberg-supported "No on Recall" campaign was just incredible. The other side outspent our side by 7 to 1, including the $350K put up by Bloomberg himself, and still lost. The "concession" speeches by both were very arrogant, too. The good guys won this one but unless/until we get rid of a bunch more of them, we're gonna be stuck with the laws passed earlier this year. At least there's some hope now.

I admit to not following this as closely, but I thought there were more than 2 that got enough petitions for a recall vote? Are there more recall elections upcoming or is this it? I did see that this just brings the count to 18-17 with dems still holding the CO Senate. The Gov is up for re-election next year so we'll see what happens then I guess. Definitely a victory for the 2A and hopefully will make others think twice about voting for similar bills in other states.

Ok I guess the other recall attempts didn't succeed and couldn't get on the ballot. Oh well, I'll take the 2 we got. Won't lead to any direct change in CO, but does send a message.

Reports are that two liberal billionaires pumped in $500,000, including $300,000 from Mayor Bloomberg. The defense (of the former members) raised over $3,000,000. The defense of the 2nd Amendment, recall supporters, raised over $500,000. Perhaps Colorado isn't for sale?

There were only two who were up for recall - Morse and Geron - and I was not aware that any other recall efforts were underway elsewhere in the state.

Coloradans don't think we're for sale and maybe this will show the Bloombergs of the world that we're not.

Yeah I think they tried to target more senators for recall, but couldn't get enough support/petitions to get them on the ballot. Didn't they even try to get enough to recall the governor?

This. There were two others up Denver way, but there weren't enough signators to the recall petition. So, instead of four....we got two.

While my initial irritation with Morse was based on the 2A issue, a little research into him just made me rabidly anti-Morse for a whole lot of reasons. Even if he'd never voted on a 2A issue at all, IMO, he should have been recalled anyway.

I will state for the record, this was the most underhanded campaign (on the part of the Morse supporters) I've ever witnessed by a very wide margin. That we won is an absolute freakin' miracle.

Chicago-style politics has arrived in Colorado Springs. At least we won the first round.

...while it is a victory for 2nd Amendment rights, more importantly it serves as a "wake-up call" to legislators, that they represent their constituents, not a special interest agenda. I just wish they coulda got the votes to recall this cow...

In the long run....probably not. But in the short term, I think the Dems that rabidly support any bill that limits 2A rights will be leery of jumping on the bandwagon in droves. As the old saying goes, nothing focuses the attention like a hanging and there's a couple bodies swinging in the breeze tonight.

The fight to keep 2A freedoms alive is a series of battles in a never-ending war. We simply won this battle but the antis, in spite of their bluster and bravado, are licking their wounds and wondering what happened. On the other side, it's more simple. America happened.

    Mike

On a strictly personal note, I'm tickled pink that Bloomberg's nose got rubbed in it. As one of the spokesmen for the NRA opined today..."Well....I guess this shows that Mike Bloomberg is political poison". ROTFLMAO

This is such great news because it not only emboldens other pro-2A folks to enact similar recalls, but also because it sends a message to the liberals -- beware.
