On prayer requests.......

I've been noticing that I don't offer any words lately, and it's concerned me......... but it's not that I'm not thinking of you or the person you're asking for. I'm just keeping my faith close to my chest and I do give a shout-out to my Lord for you/them, I just don't post it anymore for personal reasons I can't eloquently explain. I've taken to heart of what some you've said on the Agnostic Christian thread......keeping faith is a private matter for some.

I'm just not the church-going type of person and I don't read the Book much anymore.......instead I'm more mentally spiritual and not outgoing with it.

Seems some friends of our firemen and a few members wives have had a bad run in the past few months and I hope all of the prayers get answered in a positive note.

So I'm not being a douche, I'm just not as vocal about it anymore.

Speaking for myself, I wouldn't take a 'non-reply' as a negative reply (read that as "No, I won't pray for you.") I'd simply assume as you stated, or that you'd missed the thread and hadn't seen it. Asking others for their prayers does a couple of things for us. First, it does just what it sounds like; gets others on our side, rooting for a common cause, so to speak. Secondly, it lets the 'prayee' know that they aren't alone and that helps to lighten what might be a heavy burden for them. Many hands makes for light work, as they say.

Saying that I'm praying for someone doesn't mean that I am any more than not saying it means that I'm not. Being non-vocal about such things isn't a problem and any concern you may have for others misunderstanding it as a denial are unwarranted.
