Breaking Bad Ends Well

I thought Walt might put the Ricin in Lydia's Stevia, but it was crafty the way it went down. The M60 taking out the Neo-Nazis was a great writing concept, but would be hard to put into practical use. All in all, the final episode really tied up a bunch of loose ends and left me, as a long time viewer, very satisfied. The trust fund was a good touch as well.

The ending was about as good as could be, I think. There are all sorts of ways they could have done it. I was kinda glad they showed Walt's lost humanity with Skyler and his daughter, too.

Thought it was just about perfect. After being so disappointed with the ending of Dexter, I'm really glad this one was done as well as it was.

The last scene with "Uncle Jack" actually brought forth a small cheer. :tooth:

I'm glad it's over - maybe the advertisements for it will stop, now, too.

Seriously? You opened a thread called the end of breaking bad and you expected a spoiler alert?

Here's a tip. The thread title said the end of breaking bad. ???

Never saw a single episode. But if the spoilers don't get too bad, I've have to binge the whole thing on Netflix one of these days (weekends). Sounds like a great show.

How to avoid spoilers: Don't open threads dealing with the movie or TV show or whatever. It's a bit disingenuous to expect everyone else to avoid discussing the subject of the thread until they get clearance. How do you plan for others to know it's safe to proceed, anyway? Should everyone in the forum PM everyone else, asking permission? Should all threads bear warnings about spoilers, "Here be spoilers" like old seamaps? Just don't open the thread. Easy.

Well.........now that it's out in the open except for Bruchi......Walt's using the laser pointers on that shyster couple to intimidate them that they had snipers trained on them was brilliant and funny. His final instructions to Skyler and time looking on Holly was very poignant, and the very end where he encourages Jesse to shoot him for revenge was awesome in that Jesse turns down the opportunity and Jesse tells Walt to do it himself, and Walt says "I don't have to"......then we see he's been hit, falls down and dies. We all knew Walt was a dead man walking, it was just a matter of how. I think telling Lydia of the Ricin was a nice touch.

Now I'm waiting for the complete box set which should be out shortly, I've missed a lot of episodes over the last few years.

Saw the thing with the Ricin coming as soon as Lydia stirred her tea....Telling her that she had been poisoned was just icing on the cake...there is no antidote for Ricin poisoning and the manner of death is not pleasant...

Yep.........nasty stuff. Just a bummer that we found out Brock was poisoned with it when Walt was in Heisenburg mode to get Jesse back into the game.......shows how dark the character got when he resorts to killing a kid. But Lydia was a beeaaatch and kinda deserved it.

That was one of the episodes that you missed......Brock was actually poisoned with the flowers from a Lily of the Valley, and didn't die.

Isn't that were the Ricin came from? Didn't one of the shows end with showing it growing in a planter in Walt's backyard? Fuzzy recollection.....remembering now Brock didn't die...........hence a need to collect the series.

5280, I also liked the laser pointer trick, Walt just picking two dunces to do the job, snapping his fingers to get the pointers back.

and the ricin was also a great touch.

Overall, a first rate ending to a fun show.

And, yet another spoiler alert! ...

In Citizen Kane, "Rosebud" is the name of the sled that Kane had as a small child.
In Maltese Falcon, the statue is a fake.
In Hamlet, King Claudius murdered his older brother King Hamlet to grab the throne and the wife.

and I'm not sorry one bit for spoiling it for you guys! heh heh

I just wonder how the company that makes Stevia enjoyed their negative product placement. Walt tells Lydia as she's dying, "I put the Ricin in that Stevia crap you're always putting in your tea."

I was glad that Walt died by his own hand, but really sad that he lost the relationship he held most dear - with his son. Can't lie, I teared up at that part.

Stevia is an extract, not a brand name, so no company was harmed.

I think that was sort of the point in the final scene. He WAS with/in the relationship he held most dear, that being the lab that he built. He died surrounded by his most cherished loved ones.

That was a good point in the ending, like when he told Skyler that he did it all because it made him feel alive.

Sorry, did not realize that typing 2 additional words undertook such an effort as it has been done here before in exact topics as this one, perhaps even by the same folks that are up now in arms.

Tell you what, I have not seen a single episode of "The Walking Dead" and AMC is running a marathon I have already set the DVR to record, as punishment ruin it for me.

What was it about "ends well" that wasn't understood?

But you miss the point... Let's imagine this scenario... jgunpilot wants to start a thread about the finale of Breaking Bad. But we all fear that those who aren't cognizant of "ends well" might mistakenly click on the thread and see spoilers. Okay, we'll assume this...

Now, at what point would it be OKAY to start talking w. spoilers in that "ends well" thread? And how would others know that it was now "clear"? If Bruchi has now seen the show but maybe, oh, knite hadn't, should we all wait for a thread or PM from him as the go-ahead? What about all the other members? Do we need to keep a checklist of those who haven't yet send a "Okay!" PM?

Or would it be easier for those who haven't seen the episode to just not click on the thread? Or they could each start a separate non-spoiler thread about the final episode, talking about what might happen but not saying what did?
