I think this has been asked about before, but I dunno.

Can we get a Room/Forum just for reloading. I understand the implications of liability...But maybe a place to post helpful hints and advertise loads..Kinda like Hey, I am looking for a load for .308, 162gr Amax can someone PM me..Or something similar.

To combat the liability maybe have a terms of service agreement you have to click okay on, or sign into...

As to the original post- Maybe. We are looking at a couple of changes in the near future. Just have to make sure no one trips over the power cord and crashes the whole darn thing again.

Way back when.... I asked Dan Johnson if there could maybe just be a sticky for "Tips and Tricks". I was thinking of a one stop shop for members to post their ideas on easy ways to accomplish simply things without having to always go through the search function. There is a lot of accumulated knowledge on this site that needs an easy way to be shared. Long story short, he nixed it.

When the cynical side of my nature is running amok, I find myself thinking that the 'accumulated knowledge' for free idea doesn't sell magazines nor otherwise pay the bills, so things like restoring archives and organizing information are low on any list of priorities. But then, I have been diagnosed, on this very forum, as having a passive-aggressive personality with paranoid schizophrenic tendencies, so don't go by me. :jester:

I reckon the thunking is too many categories will clutter the place up and violate the KISS principle. I thunk almost all reloading questions posted get answered when posted without a specialized place of their own.

I do believe there are other sites that have separate categories or that are mostly devoted entirely to reloading.

My concern is that the folks that do not reload will ignore that section and never be exposed to the hobby. Due to reloading being mixed in with main shooting, I think we have been able to reach people that typically wouldn't give it a second thought.

I wouldn't be opposed to a prisoner transfer.

Say, the political forum for a reloading forum?

I'd be up for that. At least that would be a productive swap.

    With a .270...

What I know about reloading wouldn't fill a .22 short casing - but I'd enjoy reading such a section. I'd learn something, and maybe I'd get involved.

I bet they wouldn't have a shortage of sponsors for a reloading forum.

Same here. I never really gave it much of a thought until the ammo shortage. Now the wife has inherited some guns that will be very expensive to shoot without reloading.

Each time I have thought about it, it just seemed expensive to get into, and I have had no-one to turn to with questions. A local is a newb himself but learning quickly, with guidance I might just give it a try on a small level.

Diver and Zorba-- The best advice that seems to be universal around here is to purchase one or more reloading manuals (Lyman, Lee, Sierra, Speer, Hornady, Nosler) start reading, then get on here and fire away with questions. They will get good answers. After that, you are going to have more and we will answer those. Then you will have more.

A couple of good examples of the newbie reloaders that we have had here are Zee and Linefinder. Big Dan recently took the plunge and he is well on his way. It would be good to follow some of his threads.

Now if there was only a site where you two could have learned way back when.

I heard the p-dogs weren't all that enthusiastic about your getting into reloading. You got way too accurate for their tastes.
And due to a certain incident, "Shootin' the excrement" with friends seems an odd expression now.
And I learned an entirely new method of spreading fertilizer.
And your reloading got you into those shooting competitions with some nice rifles for which you got to reload.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer”
