The long wait is OVER!!! Finally, they are.......well..........at least announced as being released. When we will actually see them on shelves.......I've no clue. Probably about the time we start seeing ANY A-Max bullets on shelves. But, this is closer than 5 years ago when they were still developing a bullet.

Of course! I'd never consider using target bullets for hunting.

And I already use .375 Ruger brass. Not to mention it's cheaper and easier to find than Dakota or Edge brass.

    .338 A-Max bullets. Hmmmmm...........I'd a thunk you'd be holding out for some .338 Z-Max bullets. Sayin'.

Those are only for zombies they weren't designed for targets or animals. Far be it from me to use a bullet counter to its original design.

I do have a 338 SnipeTac rifle that would work with these bullets pretty good :)
They would be a lot cheaper than the rocky Mtn bullets I have.

Pfft! Only difference is the fluorescent GREEN polymer tip vs the not fluorescent RED polymer tip. Anyway, meat is meat, and the bullet don't give a rip what kind of meat it is, or whether the target backer is cardboard or wood, or steel. Too many people overthink some things. :tooth:

375 Ruger brass is cheaper and easier to find than RUM brass?
    (I honestly don't know)
  • ZeeZee Senior Member Posts: 20,564 Senior Member
    Yes.
Midway almost always has Ruger brass in stock. They have NO Ultra mag brass, haven't for awhile. Ruger brass is less expensive than RUM brass.

Interesting. What's a 338Ruger look like on paper?
Also, I guess I should grab the RUM brass in the bargain cave at Cabelas.

You should probably grab the brass. I don't order from Cabelas anymore. Between the shipping and sales tax, it costs too much to be worth it anymore.

From on what I've found, the .338-375 Ruger is supposed to be 100+fps faster than a .340 Weatherby, if I rember correctly.

That's pretty good. Right in line with a 338RUM.
    Very interesting.

So you can get hot .338 performance in a standard long action with a .338/375 Ruger? I think you just created a monster. Gears are turning.
  • ZeeZee Senior Member Posts: 20,564 Senior Member
Oh, I will be so pissed if you get one before me!!!!!
