Price of Gas

Diver43Diver43 Posts: 12,764 Senior Member
The other day wife filled up her car at her rugular gas station. Price was $3.19 a gallon. Today drove by the same gas station and postef price was $3.42. Wife looked at me and said what the heck! In not so forum friendly language.

Did a refinery blow up or something happen that I missed? Or is it corporate greed as Thanksgiving approaches?

We're lucky to get diesel for under $4/gal around here. Think I managed $3.97 when I filled up last week.

Diesel is running $3.57 - $3.59 here in New Braunfels, TX so its still not too bad. Unless I go to the ranch Wednesday and Thursday I won't need a fill up for a couple of weeks.

Yep... This is the busiest road travel week of the year, I believe. So more folks driving = "Hey, let's jack the price up and make some more $$"

Exactly. Funny how price-fixing and collusion is not only legal but rampant in the gasoline retail industry.

And this hike is on fuel that they've had in the tanks for a week.

Just a quick aside, Kmart has a deal if you spend $40, get a coupon for $0.30 off for 10 gallons at certain stations up here.

Gas been holding at 3.29 and diesel at 3.79 from the pump.
Spot price on gas has been all over the place, what we're seeing now is the price the futures traders paid for it wholesale a month ago. Watch the market reports and you can figure pretty close to what fuel is going to cost you next month. Price depends a lot on how much your station contracts for at what price also.

We're running $3.32-$3.40 up from $3.22 last week.

That coming tax hike in PA is criminal.

Gas here is actually the lowest I have seen it since getting to Alaska ...$3.48....and that is down from the $4.25 we had during the summer.

When i gased last Sat. reg. at Shell was $3.089, But i got $1.35 off for using Winn-Dixie points so it only cost $1.739. Today it was $3.359, when i got to Miami gas was $3.699 to $3.759 . Whenever i go to Miami i always carry an extra 10 - 15 gal. to get me back to central Fla. where its cheaper.

What is the price of propane per gallon ?

In some places where gasoline taxes push the price per gallon much higher than liquid propane per gallon, propane has replaced gasoline as the fuel of choice.
