Biker Discrimination. Again.

Members of the Warlocks Motorcycle Club are at a movie theater. Another patron supposedly sees a knife, so the police are called. They remove the Warlocks at gunpoint, search them, and find no knife, nothing illegal at all.

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/orange/os-bikers-police-winter-park-theater-20110919,0,7475673.story

Removing and detaining them at gunpoint was probably prudent. I wonder if the "rifles" (probably submachine guns) were warranted or really wise in a theater, but that's irrelevant.

However, the theater refused them readmittance. Since they had already allowed them in and the bikers had done nothing illegal, does the theater have any method of then excluding the bikers? No mention was made of them being rowdy or intentionally disturbing patrons.
Meh.

I'm not a fan of the gang types, but it seems their rights were violated. They should have at least gotten a refund of the ticket price. The problem with this scenario, is the biker gangs have a history of violence, drug running and other crimes, so no one wants to cut them any slack, especially the cops and business owners.

Just read the article: no wonder they got the boot...it was hoyty toyty Winter Park Village, with their own cops likely. No toleration for biker gangs over there.

If I recall correctly, a folding knife with less than 4" blade is ok concealed without a license. Any fixed or folding knife can be carried openly wherever weapons aren't prohibited, but a folder with >4" blade, or fixed knife concealed, you'd better have a CWP.

Guess a "biker" on the screen is okay. But a biker in the same room?:silly: Them folks only wanted a vicarious thrill, not the real thing.

While I lived and rode in Hawaii, I always carried a 6" fixed blade knife on my belt in plain sight. Only once, a young HPD officer came over and asked me why I had such a big knife. I said, "Because I work in a Harley shop." He nodded his head and walked away. I told my HPD pals about the incident and they said I just confused him. It's legal to carry in Hawaii. There are some restrictions such as switchblades, double edged, etc. But it's also a very gun unfriendly state.

Federal law RICO , 'Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations' , originally passed to prosecute the Mafia , names several motorcycle clubs as corrupt criminal organizations , and wearing 'colors' proclaiming to be a member of such an organization , means you relinquish most of your constitutional rights. Thank you President Nixon.

Google RICO , OMGs , and Warlocks.

Sounds like a lawsuit to me. But most places like that have a "policy" about reserving the right to refuse service to anyone......

And I am having a "get together" next year. Charleston city has a noise ordinance similar to the one that Myrtle Beach had that was shot down due to being unconstitutional by state standards. In the city of Charleston if more than 2 bikes ride together, they get pulled over and cited. Only reason it is still on the books is because nobody has challenged it yet. Which reminds me, I need to go riding down that way soon....

Funny if you are a LEO / biker you will not get pulled over, when I had My Honda CB650 I used to wear a no patch HP jacket and an plain issue helmet and I did not get pulled over once, it is of course a poor idea if you are not a LEO.

I agree, they should have refunded the money if they were going to kick them out. I would have raised enough holy hell to raise the dead if they would have done all that to me though....

I guess some people that make up our "John Q Public" just don't like Harely's..hahahahahahaahahh Article say cops found no knife... Isn't bearing False witness against thy brother a sin????????? I always thought so.........I met a few 'motorcycle enthusist in may day, and I didn't find them any more threatening than a man in the moon. As a matter of fact one of them had a masters degree in math!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't have guessed it by his facial hair and atire,, But ya can't judge a person by their looks.....Also, when I was attending Emery-Riddle aeronautical university at Daytona beach Fla. in 1982, they have a bike week just before the Daytona 500. I don't remember any trouble out of those folks...and theres plenty of so called "Bikers" at Daytona then.... On the other hand I did have a friend in NC in 1983, that got pulled over one night by a local city cop. When Phil went to get the insurance card and registration out of the glove box, the cop spotted a single blade long barlow knife.(Ya'll remember those?) and a "hawkbill" knife..(Ya'll remember those?) The cop took Phil to jail and charged him with carrying a concealed weapon............

Warlocks are not just ANY bikers, they are part of a group of criminal organizations who happen to also ride motorcycles. Down here in Florida, where there are numerous biker events throughout the year because of the climate, most bars and other businesses will prohibit the display of "club colors" in their establishments, because these biker clubs have a reputation for fighting with other groups and individuals for almost no reason at all, so the general public has no toleration for their antics. I do think however, even they have a right to enjoy a movie without being harassed, as long as they are breaking no laws or standards of behavior. These days, 99% of the motorcycling public are just everyday working people and professionals who happen to enjoy riding motorcycles for transportation and recreational enjoyment. Back in the 60's and early 70's, if you rode a motorcycle and it was a Harley, you were likely to get harassed by the cops just for being a biker, regardless of what you were doing at the time.

As does the "regular" biker crowd regard the "outlaw" participants poorly. I think some of them will go to places without the colors, away from the beach area...such as the "Cabbage Patch" bar out on 415, or maybe just stay at the local clubhouses.

German or creamy? Nothing like a woman in a bikini smelling like coleslaw to strike a young mans fancy.

Nope, they're actual Cabbage Patch pictures from the Orlando Mullet-Wrapper. Guy I used to work with saw similar stuff. The better scenery is beach-side.

I don't keep these kinda pics on the computer.

Here's a link. There are some other pics available, but I think the liberal, commie , bedwetting reporter/photographers had either a bad day or a bias against good-looking contestants.

Seems the vendors were good looking.
