Dang, 20 Degrees in Huntsville This Morning
Man, I'm almost too far north. :tooth:
Gonna warm up though. But it's in the 30s in my FLA town, so being down there would only be a little better. Cold snap fer sure.
I think since I've been taking a blood thinner (Effient) now, the cold effects me more and Mrs Chief is laughing at me because I'm feeling the cold like she does. I even have been turning up the heat and covering my legs with an Afghan or throw blanket while watching TV at night.

Unrelated question......I've never had much luck catching red fox. A few in leg hold Victors, but never consistent. Tell me how to catch the dang things without hurting mine or near-by dogs that might stumble up on a trap :uhm:
It is warm for Thanksgiving. Supposed to be 39 today!
Fox trapping is the same as coyote. You need to make dirt hole sets or set snares on trails. Every successful method puts domestic dogs at risk. I can give you a quick tutorial on how to set, if you are interested.

They don't need to get cold, but when it hits the 40's we have a better bloom and a better year. A few years ago we had perfect conditions, in the low 40's in December, and then almost no rain from January to May. It was really dry but I had over 2000 fruit from my 8 trees.

So what's the difference in temperatures @ ground, 1000 or 5000 feet in a Whirlybird?
I know a lot depends on the ambient temperature. Say it is 72 degree at ground level...then what at altitudes?

Thats in Rugby ND.
Gobble-Gobble-Gobble!
Hard to see them but they are more visible than WMG's bear. There were 10-12 turkeys under the feeder this morning but I didn't feel like cleaning one.

All I really do too, wife won't eat them and those brush country birds taste a little too much like Sage to me. I just let them go, in the 24 years I have been out there I have shot turkeys 2 times and didn't like how they turned out either time.
