Anyone having problems with Embarq DSL service?

My DSL feed has been crap since yesterday morning. Pages don't load completely or not at all and getting "service unavailable" messages. I called their tech-support number and got a recorded message saying the problem has been identified and service will be restored at 2pm today. It's better, but nowhere near the speed and functionality it was.

I just got my full DSL service back after being nearly non-existent since last Tuesday. Funny thing was, this forum was one of the only websites that would load properly.

I did make one mistake about the name of the company, and I'm assuming that was the reason for no replies on this thread. I called them Embarq service, when it should have been Century Link. It was originally Sprint, then became Embarq. That was the old name and I didn't realize it until I took a look at the bill for a number to call them about the problem.

I now realize that I'm addicted to and dependent on the internet for a variety of reasons and how it REALLY sucks to be without it. Anyone else feel that way about the internet?

I didn't have internet at home until a little over a year ago. I have Centurylink DSL at home now, bundled with my Direct TV service. I did notice it was slower than usual the past week or so. But since I spend a lot of time on a computer at work, I don't use mine at home all that much. Check out social media and weather is about it. Netflix and Pandora now and then. So I guess I didn't put much thought into it. I'm about as technology ignorant as they come, so I just shrug it off. Wouldn't know what to do about it if there was a problem anyway..

For me, I have been involved with the internet and email since 1989. With the addition of new features and capabilities I guess my interest and dependency has evolved over the years. I use it for almost everything I used to use the phone and store shopping for. The only reason I go to any stores at all is for food shopping and necessities that come from an auto parts store or Home Depot or other things that I need right away. I do almost all my banking on the internet, shopping for products that I used to go to the store for, email for personal communication instead of a phone, and of course my all time favorites: social media like this forum, facebook and my various favorite motorcycle websites.
