    For years I had a branch on the wall that I referred to as my 8 pointer, I had a deer dead to rights at 50 yds with a scoped muzzleloader, knew I had hit it, could not have missed, searched for several hours at night and came back first thing in the morning and searched the woods for hours, finally went back into stand and about 3 feet from where the muzzle was I noticed a freshly cut branch about 3/8" dia, did not see it in the scope when I fired but it was enough to deflect the bullet and give a clean miss, the section of branch was lying directly underneath. There is no such thing as a brush busting bullet!

    Even a .50 BMG can be re-directed by a lowly thin branch or bit of bamboo or reeds etc ....
