My AR's new look.

The installation of the Troy TRX 15" rail went smoothly. And although I already had a clamp-on version of a low profile gas block, I also installed a Troy low-pro unit that is smaller and lighter than the previous gas block. It is also a slip-on style, versus the former. The AAC brake also went on with no fuss. The crush washer allowed for perfect alignment and the supplied thread sealer was used.
I went to the range before work and ran her through a functional test and all worked perfectly. The AAC brake works quite well. I did not have any friends left or right of me after 30 rounds, but felt recoil was noticeably reduced compared to the brake that was on there (YHM Phantom). The one large dispersion chamber in the brake gets ride of muzzle gases fast. So quickly in fact, I observed the gas exhausted and disipating more quickly than with the YHM unit on there previously. It was kind of cool to actually see the difference with the naked eye, as well as feel it in the shoulder.
I did my normal zero at 25 yards and she punched a ragged hole in the bull with ease, as always. A quick adjustment to the BUIS and they were back in business too. All-in-all, it shed about a pound and a half easily. My next grab will be an Aimpoint Micro and she'll be done.

I believe that's the switch that operates the light mounted on the side of the handguard.
Looks nice, Jason. Great job. But now you may be an enabler who is causing me to start looking for a new brake to replace my YHM brake...........

How do you like the ERGO stock? I looked at them but have never gotten any feedback from a person (I don't trust media reviews too much).
Love the switch placement ... it plants a seed when using the style grip I think you are.
As too the Aimpoint Micro, with your DD BUIS already there using the DD fixed mount for a T-1 will give you a great 1/3 co-witness at 5 to 6 ounces. To further enable AIM surplus has that combo for a great price right now.

I have the Magpul M93b stock, which is what Ergo based its F93 on. I like the look a lot. Function-wise, it locks up solid and easy to adjust. My understanding is that the F93 has the castle nut "system", which makes it A WHOLE lot easier to install than the Magpul.

I did build the AR from scratch about 3 or 4 years ago. And I've built one more in the same fashion since then which I just sold. The lower is manufactured by Doublestar out of Winchester, Kentucky. They build custom 1911's and AR15's. Its a quality lower. The upper/barrel is Del-Ton made. They are a great company and you get a solid, functional, accurate AR for a great price. The barrel is 1:9 -- my only regret is not getting a 1:7 -- and it shoots sub-moa at 100 yards with ball 5.56x45mm.
Absolutely. I plan on going to the range again to shoot a couple other rifles of mine soon, and I will be sure to video the AR in action. I was alone at the range yesterday, so that would have been an interesting task.
I went out on a limb and bought the ERGO stock as soon as the advertisement hit the G&A magazines. I wanted a MAGBUL UBR, but $260 is way, way, WAY too much to spend on a stock, IMO. Even though I love how it feels and operates. MAGPUL stuff is not garbage, but neither is this ERGO stock. It slides smoothly and locks in to the postition you want solidly. I have no complaints for $140 or whatever it was. It's lighter than the UBR, too.
As to the lower-third co-witness in the Micro, I wonder if the small aperture of the Micro would be crowded by the DD BUIS?
This stock was cake to install. It is castle-nutted, yes.
