Economical yet reliable 9mm options?
I'd like to get a full size or maybe midsize pistol for a bug out bag, and plinking. It will be my first full size centerfire pistol, and first 9mm. It will obviously fill all of the rolls a full size auto will fill (night stand, sel defense, etc) and the whole family will use it, which is why I wanted a 9mm. I think it will be more easily managed by all. Also, ammo is cheap and almost universally available. Another thread has pretty well covered the merits of the 9mm, so let's focus on the platform. Which pistol provides the most value?
Some threads I read for information. Others I read for entertainment value.

There may not be anything wrong with a PT-92 either except it is a Taurus. I've shot 1000's of rnds through mine.
The CZ 75 is a very popular choice also for just a little more money. (that's what I'd get)

I should clarify that ... Glock 19 and 17C are on special 'til 10/1/11 ...

I'm probably missing a few, but I've seen all of the above going for under $600, and some for right at $400 (Rock Island 1911). I carry a Glock 19 personally and like it a lot, but I do drool over the CZ-75.

Smith and Wesson has come out with a new pistol recently, the SD9, it's basically a refined/fluffed and buffed Sigma. Haven't shot one, but they feel really good in the hand and shops around here have them NIB for around $360.00, if I were in the market for an inexpensive 9mm I'd definitely look into one of them.

CZs were inexpensive at one time, now they are in the 400+ range and more likely the 450+ range.
There is one inexpensive CZ clone and its the EAAs. Even the Armalite AR24s (another CZ clone) arent cheap.
if youre got an open mind and are willing to try then there are alot of used (good?) 9s out there including ones that have been stated.
as stated before, if you want recommendations/advise let us know your budget. "economical" means different things to different people. if you dont have a number, then a price range is just as good.

Great gun..........spend the rest on ammo and holster.............Ken
Get the CZ. If not, get the Ruger P95.
Both are reliable, durable pistols that will be functioning long after the Morlocks rise up and strike down the Eloi.
The CZ is more accurate, though.
