Annapolis police chief says...

CaliFFLCaliFFL Posts: 5,486 Senior Member
Testifying against bills proposed to legalize and decriminalize marijuana in the state, Annapolis Police Chief Michael Pristoop cited a hoax story that claimed 37 people had died the first day marijuana was legalized in Colorado.

“The first day of legalization, that’s when Colorado experienced 37 deaths that day from overdose on marijuana,” Pristoop testified at Tuesday’s Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee hearing. “I remember the first day it was decriminalized there were 37 deaths.”

AND....

“If it was a misquote, then I’ll stand behind the mistake,” Pristoop said. “But I’m holding on to information I was provided.”
Reached by phone after he testified, Pristoop apologized.
“After conducting additional research, it appears that was not accurate at all,” Pristoop said. “I believed at the time that was accurate.
“But I don’t think it takes away from the other facts we presented ... I’m guilty of being a human being. I tried really hard to present verified facts.”

Remember, no one in recorded history has EVER OD'd from pot.

This is a police chief of a large American city. Can he really be this stupid? Or did he think no one would call him on his lying propaganda?

When our governing officials dismiss due process as mere semantics, when they exercise powers they don’t have and ignore duties they actually bear, and when we let them get away with it, we have ceased to be our own rulers.

For a lot of people, once the facts fit their belief then there is no reason to do further research.

You weren't supposed to check his facts! He is a trustworthy public servant, his word should be good enough for all. (Heavy Sarcasm)

    What a funny ****.

I have seen enough overdoses of heroin and illegal drugs, kids etc..... I have yet however, to see one death from regular marijuana, I have however, seen deaths unrelated to marijuana laced with dangerous narcotics and or unknown (to Me anyway) poisons.

This was Maryland, right? That haven of freedom so close to our nation's capitol................

This is indeed the police chief of the capital city of MD, a state which typically marches in (political) lock step with the leftists in Washington, DC, and which is, in fact, contiguous to Washington, DC.
Do you see now why I hate this place? Good citizens here are surrounded by fools, lackeys, whores, running dogs and yes men by the thousands. Don't get me started.....
