The cartridges in red are the new additions from this season so far.

The only other cartridge I'm likely to add this season might possibly be the .338 Win Mag if given the chance. Otherwise, it will probably be more of the same as I don't have any other new cartridges

I have used several rifles on deer, but mainly .270 Win., 6mm Remington, .257 Roberts AI, .308 Win., .30-30 Win., 9.3x62mm, 30-06, 7 Rem. Mag. The top ones here are the .270, the 6mm, the .308, and the .257 AI.

20 gauge shotgun with slugs. Ohio sucks. Can't wait to finish my 357mag pistol and hunt with it. Also considering a 44mag rifle. I reckon I could hunt with one of my 44mag pistols though.

Who did this thread vote for the last election? I know it's old enough to vote.

My list hasn't changed in a while. No new guns or rather deer rifles have I been blessed with. Last deer I shot was with my 51 year old (At the time) .270 which was already on my list. First deer I killed with it was the year I bought it, 1966.
However this is a new year and I will soon be in possession of my 7x57 which I will use to pursue game with next season, hopefully adding another cartridge to the list. That will round out the 57mm case rounds pretty well, because I have killed deer with the Roberts, albeit the AI version, the 8x57, and the 6mm Remington.

    Well, you did.

Anyway, it’s my running list from year to year. Keeps my OCD in check and folks are free to add what they will.

Ain’t like there is much else to read on this forum but gossip these days, with the occasional gun thread.

I am somewhat guilty of this but such is life with all its limitations and indispositions.

And out of the prattle comes a bit of yin-yang, be it comparatively rare.

This is not, in any form, a rebuke of your post, which are always very enjoyable to view and read.

It is just a hands up in class.

Being mainly a rifle shooter I can agree with Zee. It comes down to looking forward to thread repetition. I love it when threads about hunting rifles and/or building rifles are the norm. The only thing I really use handguns for is carry. That's taken care of in the Self Defense section here. I know that hand guns are some people's world and this place isn't only about me, each to his/her own, But just saying, for my own interests here I'll chase lists like this all day long and never get tired.

I have taken whitetail with my .30-06 and 6.5x55 so far.  I was less than pleased by the results with 180gr factory in my .30-06 (it doesnt seem to like 150gr bullets for some reason) and the 129gr in my 6.5x55 held together better than expected given the lack of distance.

2 x 30-30 Win (Michigan Whitetail) State Land - Gladwin County, MI
6 x 44 Magnum 6" Ruger Redhawk (Michigan Whitetail) - Amish farm land in Gladwin County, MI

3 x .223 Remington (Coues Bucks) Santa Cruz and Cochise Counties, AZ

1 x 9mm Parabellum (Plastic Christmas Rudolph) Not my kill, I was just a witness, the year my dad got drunk, went outside with my Hi Power, shot Rudolph and claimed Christmas was cancelled because Santa Claus just committed suicide.
