I most certainly do. I should have titled it "Bite me in the crotch, Gunbroker.com 22LR Ammunition Sellers"
    But it wouldn't fit

If nobody will buy the prices will come down. I've just pretty much quit shooting my .22's and waiting on back orders at reasonable prices.

Just looked at GB. Seems like everybody wants at least twice what they paid for their .22 ammo.

I'm with you there......The panic mode is over for the other cartridges but .22lr seems to be the last to come back after these type of events

    BTW I like your terminology

    lets add this one up..
    32 S&W brass..
    100 rnds/ $29 = $.29 ea
    bullets, 500 for $32. = $.06 ea
    powder, 7,000gr for $35 = $.004/gr x 1.5 gr = $.006
    primers, 1000 for $34 (last box I bought, I have some I paid $16./1000) = $.03 ea..

    so each round cost me.. $.386 x 100 = $38.60
    now, depreciate the brass over five loadings.. now it's $.05 ea.. = $.146 x 100 = $14.60

which is one heck of a lot less than the $18.50 per 100 that .22 was..

I've got lots of lead to cast .251 dia. bullets and a mold, and small pistol primers aren't too high or hard to find, and a .25 ACP only uses 1.2 grains of powder(Hodgdon Universal), and I have several hundred cases. Glad I built that .25 ACP rifle; I can shoot for cheap. That's over 5,800 rounds from a pound of powder.

I mostly have stopped shooting .22lr, but, not sure why.
Maybe waiting for summer or the price to go down or pigs to fly?????????????

Locally it is $85 a brick.

Do they thunk Plated means Gold Plated or something...............like I said in another thread bolt rifles in .22 are making a big comeback because of today's prices. Most folks can't afford to take out their .22 semis and run through 100-500 rounds on a Saturday afternoons any mo!

Was talking to counter guy at local Academy Sports the other day, they get 3 delivery trucks a week, Sunday, Monday and Thursday I think. He said there are the same people there at opening every week looking to buy .22s. He said one of the regulars says he has over 24,000 rounds stashed. Why does anyone need that much .22 and still looking for more? That's a lot of plinking and squirrel hunting.

So how much do you have stashed? I think I am down to about 500 rounds, been shooting it up and not found any good buys lately. Never really had much more than about 2K at once. I shoot it as fast as I get it usually. Also have about 150 rounds of .22 mags bit only shoot those a few cylinders a range trip if at all.

Larry's always has .22, 8 or 9 bucks for 100 mini mags, several other types and prices, limit 100 a day and usually some bulk of some sort. When academy has it, it's usually a lot cheaper, sometimes less than $5.00/100 depending on brand. Again 100/day limit unless bulk.

I am set for life on .22 LR. In the late 90's I went to a Quality Farm and Fleet just after they opened one Saturday. The sale flyer had advertised Remington Thunderbolts for .79 cents a box. So I grabbed one brick of ten boxes and headed to the cash register where waiting for me was the worlds most uninterested and self absorbed teenager. She scanned the brick...BEEB $0.79. I said is that the right price??? (knowing that it was not) She rolled her eyes said something smart got a sale flyer and instructed me on how the ad said .79 each and pointed to the picture. I replied "one moment I will be right back". I got a buggy and cleaned that effin' place out! :) So needless to say I will be shooting Thunderbolts till the day I die! haha

I have to think they they don't realize they are a step behind the now mostly passed gun panic. It seems the last of the folks still buying .22 LR right now are the ones hoarding in anticipation of everyone else paying double for their stash. All of those guys should be in for a rude awakening when their stockpiles prices normalize and they are sitting on a loss.

Gunbroker is truly the asylum of deranged and dystopic sellers. For example, search for practically any new firearm, and you'll see a bazillion listings. A tiny few that are actually priced right get bids, and are sold. The vast majority are way overpriced, or include a "reserve," a feature virtually guaranteed to drive bidders away. The "Buy it now" price is usually a fantastic exaggeration of the weapon's value. I don't know who these sellers think they're fooling. At any given time, I follow a few dozen auctions for guns on my bucket list - some new, some used, some collectible - sometimes I groan over a great deal I had to miss, but usually I smile at the overpriced auctions that will go unsold and be relisted forever and ever.

I've got over 2 bricks on hand. But a brick = 1000 rounds in my book. But today it seems a brick can equal 225, 500, or even 750 rnds. I used to get mad at the online sellers but in fact it's the idiotic buyers driving this market. as long as panicked buyers are over paying then nothing will change.
I've seen GB sellers that if you scrolled down to see their other auctions, theses guys had 30. 40. 50k rounds for sale. Armslist is just as bad and WW should send undercover guys into every store. But it's the buyers driving this.
I also think there are some distributors involved in shenanigans.
But until people stop paying these prices, nothing will change.

I just picked up a 500 rnd brick for $23 at Sportsman's Warehouse. They also had some new ammo I haven't seen before:

Since it was only $17.99/box, I bought a few. I'll have to try them out and see how they work, but I know already that I like Hornady XTP bullets.

I don't know for sure how much .22 LR I actually have. I know for sure I have 4 unopened wooden crates of 5,000 rounds each and one 3/4 full of S&B ammo, and a whole bunch of 500 round bricks of mixed stuff, and 3 wooden cases of Russian steel cased .22LR that are 6,000 rounds/case, and the Russian steel cased stuff shoots pretty good. I bought the stuff in wooden cases quite a few years back(15+ years back) because it was on sale, and I had the urge to stock up. And 4 bricks of .22 Short for my little single shot pocket pistol.
And 4 bricks plus a partial brick of .17 Mach2.

And I'm not a hoarder; I need every round!

Well, if I sell my 10-22's, I've got "enough"
Problem is, my "go-to" is my RSI.. And match ammo won't reliably cycle the action.
But all I want is one stinking brick...

    Sounds like eBay...

I'm down to 200 rds of .22LR, looking at GB et al all the time just like everyone else. Total ridiculousness. When my LGS/range has it in stock, they sell it for a fair price for a non-Wal-Mart seller. I'm going on an out of state trip soon, I'm hoping to find some there and ship it back home...

Took a break during a road trip and stopped in the BPS in Emporia, KS they had a pretty good supply of CCI minimags and stingers for pretty close to a normal price (8.29). I bought 2 100 count boxes of minimags (2 box limit ) as did my brother. These were the first rim fires I have seen available in any flavor in a good while.

Make a friend (or bribe) at the LGS. Who will call you when they get 22's in. I didn't need any before, but I'm pretty well set, now.

The dam will burst on the river of 22LR ammo supply, and the market will be flooded. I do trust the price gougers will choke.
