can you separate out the velocity of a mag safe rd, without worrying about what the bullet is made of? as long as the bullet is the same size and weight, it can be driven to the same velocity, man (safely). If you're worried about "inadequate penetration", then make that bullet a solid aluminum or copper swc. It's still going to have a LOT more energy and effect than standard ball ammo, and it's going to penetrate barriers better too. Granted, that doesn't take much, especially in .45, cause they don't penetrate much. :-)

They have been advertising pills on TV that may help you with that.

it takes ENERGY in order for a bullet to "do work", and penetration of a projectile IS "work". If you've got more energy, you've got more POTENTIAL penetration, IF the bullet is constructed in a way to make that potential a reality. A 70 gr bullet at 2300 fps IS achievable (safely) in a .45, and it's got the SAME momentum and recoil as a 230 gr bullet at 700 fps. But the 2300 fps load has 820 ft lbs of energy, the 700 fps load has a lousy 250 ft lbs. guess which one has VERY superior penetration in car metal or wood? :-) IF it's a solid copper or aluminum swc, that is.

That's why I wear cowboy boots, they slip on. Oh Ide like to see a 70 gr .45 cal bullet, or a sabot that carries a 22 cal. Bullet for a 1911. Or what ever your going to shoot it out of. Ooooo shoot it out of a high point!

If he can tie his shoes mentally, he is on a level all his own. Perhaps he is launching those high velocity projectiles mentally also. Perhaps in another dimension even.

That's just silly talk. Slap a gas check on both ends of a groove+0.002" nylon cylinder and get some REAL velocity.
