Notice all the weather coverage on NBCCBSABC?

For the past couple months, it seems that every single nightly news broadcast by the "big 3" (NBC, CBS, ABC) features some sort of weather catastrophe across the USA.

Now, yes, I know we've had a spate of unusually bad weather across the country, and I realize the problems faced by farmers and other people dealing with bad weather. But ordinarily, the 3 networks couldn't give a spotted damn about what happens in "flyover country", right?

But as soon as Obama starts cranking up the fear machine about "global climate change", every sycophantic news source jumps on the bandwagon.

Yesterday (6/27), CBS had extended coverage of some cars and pickups sitting halfway flooded on some highway interchange. I mean, the same thing happens all across the country every time we get some heavy rain -- vehicles flooded out at certain problem intersections. But to elevate that to network news coverage?

This would never happen normally, as the big networks don't care what happens in Iowa or Ohio or any other central state. Except now, to create an emotional pattern for the "low information" citizen, they've ramped up their weather reporting nearly every day.

Agree? Or not?

Disagree. Every yr somewhere experiences spring/early summer flooding and it's always on the national news. Last yr it was Colorado and then places east. The yr before it was north central US and before that ND was flooding for a long time from snow melt and rains. Before long we will be hearing of droughts affecting famers. It's the same very yr but now they blame it on climate chg.

It might be that, or else the oral copulating, butt licking, deranged stream media is covering the weather because they refuse to discuss real problems like the IRS, the Justice Dept., NSA, Benghazi, and presidential unconstitutional actions.

Same old magician's misdirection trick at work; don't look at this hand, but watch THIS hand. Ginning up weather pattern fear while the EPA is lowering the boom on coal and fossil fuel power plants. Around 10 years from now we will be losing about half of the coal and fossil fuel plants due to the EPA regulations. That's quite a few GIGAwatts of annual power production that can NOT be replaced by wind or solar electric or solar thermal power. When Obama said that electricity prices would necessarily skyrocket, he wasn't kidding.

And most of the population in the U.S. in particular and the world in general have no concept of anything before their first memory, much less what happened even a couple hundred years ago. And especially what has happened over millions of years as relates to the Earth's changing climate. Easy to fool all of the people some of the time when they are ignorant of the past. Like the fact that we're still warming back up from the Little Ice Age. And that a couple of decades of temperature readings are pretty much meaningless when taken in the context of millions of years of data available from ice cores and other data streams.

Well' the SCOTUS has ruled the EPA can do this so I dunno. The EPA has decreed that my state has to reduce emissions by 44 percent. We've got 4 coal fired plants here. i guess the only questions remaining are how much my electric bill will go up and how soon. But we didn't have A/C in a house i lived in til i was about 14 or a school I went to til I was about 15. and for winter we've got an excellent wood stove and plenty of timber on the place. So we'll manage.
Just another sacrifice to be endured til people wake up and throw out these Socialist Utopians once and for all.

I read a story some years back that said a bunch of rich bigwigs had a meeting in the mid 1930s on how to get to a one world government and the general consensus was global warming as the best way.
I have tried to find the article again for some time now and it is no where to be found.

...well, you can probably expect a raid by armed EPA agents in the next few years as their new "woodstove regulations" come into effect. If you are not "Compliant", it's off to "Re-education" w/ you...

Even if the article exists, it's bogus, one of those "Knights Templar" conspiracy goofball outsprings. Fact is, even among the wild-eyed nutball environmental whackos, "warming" is recent. Until the 90s it was global "cooling" -- the CO2 would block the sun's rays so the Earth would cool and we'd have global winter. Now of course the CO2 will block the sun's rays so the Earth will heat!

Just goes to show that the Progressives are quick on their feet...as soon as one argument has been disproved or lost credibility, they find another one to replace it. They will continue on this hysteria-train until they get their global carbon tax. It's kind of like when Communists changed their name to Liberals and Progressives, so as to not sound as scary and threatening.

Just ask Buffy the Ice Cube Slayer over in the Fly guys arena how icebergs melt. Those POOR POOR Polar bears!

...just think. In another few billion years or so, the sun will deplete the remaining hydrogen in its core and swell into a super giant possibly even reaching the orbit of Jupiter. Perhaps we can get a petition going urging Obama to fund programs on saving the sun. Perhaps a few million space ships to tow the earth into what will be the new "Goldilocks Zone". Just a thought.

Yea NOAA is real trustworthy. I read somewhere they are also one of the alphabet agencies that all of a sudden needs to arm themselves. Them killer hurricanes are a biacth

NOAA also includes the National Marine Fisheries Service, which has law enforcement officers that enforce fisheries and wildlife laws in their sanctuaries, and as a partner agency with many state agencies provides weapons and ammo for them.

Seems out of their realm but that's not surprising. Doesn't forgive changing weather data to suit their (climate scare people) needs.

I wouldn't trust anyone at NOAA to guard the contents under an outhouse, even if they were wearing muzzles. Their figures lie while their liars figure. Bunch of asbestos pants wearers all. (Liar liar pants of fire)

The scandal of fiddled global warming data
The US has actually been cooling since the Thirties, the hottest decade on record

When future generations try to understand how the world got carried away around the end of the 20th century by the panic over global warming, few things will amaze them more than the part played in stoking up the scare by the fiddling of official temperature data. There was already much evidence of this seven years ago, when I was writing my history of the scare, The Real Global Warming Disaster. But now another damning example has been uncovered by Steven Goddard’s US blog Real Science, showing how shamelessly manipulated has been one of the world’s most influential climate records, the graph of US surface temperature records published by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Goddard shows how, in recent years, NOAA’s US Historical Climatology Network (USHCN) has been “adjusting” its record by replacing real temperatures with data “fabricated” by computer models. The effect of this has been to downgrade earlier temperatures and to exaggerate those from recent decades, to give the impression that the Earth has been warming up much more than is justified by the actual data. In several posts headed “Data tampering at USHCN/GISS”, Goddard compares the currently published temperature graphs with those based only on temperatures measured at the time. These show that the US has actually been cooling since the Thirties, the hottest decade on record; whereas the latest graph, nearly half of it based on “fabricated” data, shows it to have been warming at a rate equivalent to more than 3 degrees centigrade per century.
