[h=1]“Freedom of mind is the real freedom.
A person whose mind is not free though he may not be in chains, is a slave, not a free man.
One whose mind is not free, though he may not be in prison, is a prisoner and not a free man.
One whose mind is not free though alive, is no better than dead.

What a cruel irony that one of the greatest minds of our time is trapped in a useless body, while millions of mental midgets are healthy and continue to breed like rabbits.

The English language is made up of about 300 original words. We raided the vocabulary clotheslines of nearly every nation to flesh out our dictionary, and made no attempts to hide the theft. Spellings of those words we pilfered, er........mmmm.......borrowed, yeah that's it, borrowed, are always in a state of flux as to the proper spelling. Some gathering of eggheads in places like Oxford and Haavadd (Harvard) get together on occasion to decide among themselves how a word should be spelled. Now I ask you, just whoinhell do they think they are that they can dictate to the masses how a word should be spelled? Did they get some special dispensation from above that anointed them with this power? Not hardly; just a bunch of pompous donkeys that look down their noses at the supposed lower born donkeys with disdain.

So spell it how you want that makes sense to you; add some spice to the language. Plodding in the same tracks leads to a rutting of the road and broken wheels.

I'd think the same thing about my fellow English lit majors, then reverse it when I was in class for my chemistry major. The former group could spell anything but knew nothing. The reverse was true for the latter.

Hell, we can't even agree between ourselves, the Brits and the Yanks, how to spell a simple word like "favorite" -- what was it Shaw said, "Britain and the United States, two great nations separated by a common language."?

The American spelling of words like "favorite/favourite", "jail/gaol," "plow/plough" was deliberate. Right after the Revolution, there were hard feelings against the British, and there was a push to simplify spellings and be more American. Among those was Noah Webster, who I believe wrote the first American English dictionary. At least that's what I heard.

    Hello?
    Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
    Is there anyone at home?

    Come on, now
    I hear you're feeling down
Well I can ease the pain
Get you on your feet again

    Relax
    I'll need some information first
    Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying

    When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain you would not understand
This is not how I am

    I have become comfortably numb

    I have become comfortably numb

    Okay
    Just a little pinprick
    There'll be no more
But you may feel a little sick

    Now can you stand up?
I do believe it's working good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying

When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown the dream is gone

    I have become comfortably numb
"A patriot is mocked, scorned and hated; yet when his cause succeeds, all men will join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot." Mark Twain

Good writing! You should make this into a song. Who knows if it would be a hit?

(yeah, I know -- just kidding -- but you did a helluva good job typing all the lyrics)
