Black bear dropped in CAG style to a Birthday party and swiped some cupcakes....
We didn't get pictures or video because it happened so fast, but Friday at the range the Soldiers on the Range next to us had their packs grounded a little to close to the woodline. A Black Sow ran out, grabbed the closest Ruck, and ran back into the woods with it. About 100m in the woods, they started to find the trail of gear that lasted about 300m...Never recovered the Ruck.
When the reds first started hitting the Russian. the Brown Bears were fishing right along side everyone else. about every fifth person there was a bear in the river pawing fish.
Never a dull day in Alaska....Just days that don't end, or days where you never see the light.

You were only allowed to fish the bottom <mile of the Russian. The rest was a sanctuary for the fish to spawn. That is where all of the bears were.
I was just looking at the area on Google Maps. None of the roads, trails, or campgrounds were there back then.
