    Unless she is already a shooter and comfortable with handling a shotgun I would recommend taking her to the range and find out what she is comfortable with. A 22 that she will use will be far more effective than a shotgun she is afraid of. Start with a 22 and work up to her comfort level. She may love dumping 12ga slugs as fast as she can but she might be far better off with a carbine in any number of calibers.

    Hey this guy used one and said it was a 20 and it had almost as much power and was lighter than a 12 ga...or a reasonable facsimile thereof. BC
