cpjs thread inspired this. Not the best pics, but here are my Lee Sisters, Ugly and Uglier......that belonged to my late brother I bought from my nephew who had no interest in them. Not great pics, but only ones I got on file.

I think Savages are about the best value for bang for you buck. They do have some top-end stuff, but the average Savage gives you a lot for your shootin dollars!

I agree but if you held this one and saw close up the wood and engraving, you would have bought it too.

The best one yet. We have to give them credit that they are inexpensive AND accurate out of the box like Sako's but they are nothing like Sako's and ugly! :jester:

It took me ten years to figure out posting pictures; it'll probably take another ten to figure out how to enlarge them. It's in GREAT shape, but it's a split-bridge receiver with a barrel nut and a stamped trigger guard. Imagine that the Soviets built Moisin Nagants on a budget. . .even less of a budget.

This is a Savage of sorts, a Stevens Model 200 in .223 Remington. It has a 1:9 twist rate barrel but I haven't got it to shoot well with any weight bullet. However I'm still trying.

This is my Savage Model 110 7 Rem. Mag I got off Gun Broker for $205 before refinishing the stock

And here after refinishing the stock and scoping it with the VX-1 Leupold 4-12 x 40.

    Zee, and Timc,

How do those hog hunters shoot? Never thought I would buy a savage, but those things look down right handy. I have been looking for a walkin in the woods rifle, and that might fit the bill. What about the .338 win mag? I have several .308s already, and don't want a short barrel .223 in a bolt gun, so it could be worth adding a new caliber to the collection.

When I first got it, I put a 10x scope on it to test it's accuracy potential.
