    See....

I'm not going to shed a tear over him going, but until we know who the replacement is, I'm cautious. Heck, who knows why he's leaving. Could be he's going somewhere he could have more "impact."
    Meh.

And that he's not doing this in preparation of taking some higher office.

I cannot imagine what it might be but I just can't believe that the Country would have the good fortune for this butt clown to fade away.
    That's all I got.

There is either a plan to move him into a what I consinder more damaging position to our Country or something is ready to come out that Obama needs to distance himself from.

Don't doubt for one second that his replacement will be any less of a zealot than Holder is.

And, gang, this is why we MUST overturn the Democrat majority in the Senate in November: Can you imagine Eric Holder nominated and approved for the Supreme Court?

Picture 2 sitting judges retiring in the next couple years, and having Eric Holder and John Kerry replace them? This could easily happen.

Just imagine that, and please don't forget to vote for an electable non-Democrat for Senate if your state has one in contention. Pleeeezeee!

Justice would finally be served but I'm not counting on it. There is a pending Freedom of Information Act request for the damning documents that I would bet the farm were destroyed less than a hour following those congressional bullies demands.

The commie holder is resigning, so Ovomit can appoint another commie that the senate Republicans can't defeat because of the new senate 51% majority rules.

There are quite a few Democrats in the Senate (fairly conservative Demos) who would be reluctant to confirm a total leftwing nominee.

But generally, if a nominee isn't scandalous or is not a crook, it's likely that person would be confirmed. That's just how it goes.

Regardless, Holder will likely stay in office until after the elections, because the whole confirmation process would stir up lots of angst that the Demos know that might work against them in the November elections. So Holder will plan to stay on till maybe December.

Doesn't really matter. The replacement of Holder may face genuine opposition if and only if the Demos lose control of the Senate in November.

There's no reason I can think of that would prevent them from pushing through a new nominee after the election with a lame-duck congress. There is also speculation that if they can get a new A.G., Holder will be nominated for the Supreme Court to replace Ginsburg who may be retiring. Conservative Democrats? That seems to be a contradiction of reality, but that's just my opinion. To me they're all commie-leaning.

Like any political party, Democrats have a width of individual tenets. When I said "conservative" Demos I of course was speaking within the scope of the Democrat party, not "conservative" in the overall sense. These are generally from centrist states that elect Democrats or Republicans both, and so they are not wanting to anger the middle of the road voter.

You're right about a lame duck Senate but public opinion can also be significant and it can make many prospective "rebels" to be cautious. Sometimes.

Re. "conservative leaning" Demo Senators, I'm thinking people like Joe Manchin (WVA), Joe Donnelley (Ind) or Kay Hagan (NC). Not true conservatives of course, but within the Democrat scope, yeah.

Allowing him to resign is too nice a send-off.

Ok, the court ruled against Holder and the DOJ two days before his resignation on Fast and Furious records....

As for impeachment, a bare republican majority wouldn't matter - it takes a super majority.

I think deeper motives = ie Obama will try a controversial appointment as a means to boost dem votes. Or prepare Holder for SCOTUS. or both.

My opinion, FWIW: for the Federal system to survive with any personal freedom intact: Masses will have to divorce both the Democrat and Republican parties. There is no salvation in either. Build a supermajority of states that will hold an Article V convention to do things like
    1. Allow Secession
    2. Abolish the 17th amendment
    3. Abolish the 16th amendment
    4. Shooot - abolish every amendment from the 14th on except the one that ended prohibition

That would be a good start.
