I'm not going to shed a tear over him going, but until we know who the replacement is, I'm cautious. Heck, who knows why he's leaving. Could be he's going somewhere he could have more "impact."
And that he's not doing this in preparation of taking some higher office.
I cannot imagine what it might be but I just can't believe that the Country would have the good fortune for this butt clown to fade away.

Only about 6 years late.
Don't doubt for one second that his replacement will be any less of a zealot than Holder is.
And, gang, this is why we MUST overturn the Democrat majority in the Senate in November: Can you imagine Eric Holder nominated and approved for the Supreme Court?
Picture 2 sitting judges retiring in the next couple years, and having Eric Holder and John Kerry replace them? This could easily happen.
Just imagine that, and please don't forget to vote for an electable non-Democrat for Senate if your state has one in contention. Pleeeezeee!
Mehico???
There are quite a few Democrats in the Senate (fairly conservative Demos) who would be reluctant to confirm a total leftwing nominee.
But generally, if a nominee isn't scandalous or is not a crook, it's likely that person would be confirmed. That's just how it goes.
Regardless, Holder will likely stay in office until after the elections, because the whole confirmation process would stir up lots of angst that the Demos know that might work against them in the November elections. So Holder will plan to stay on till maybe December.
Doesn't really matter. The replacement of Holder may face genuine opposition if and only if the Demos lose control of the Senate in November.
You're right about a lame duck Senate but public opinion can also be significant and it can make many prospective "rebels" to be cautious. Sometimes.
Re. "conservative leaning" Demo Senators, I'm thinking people like Joe Manchin (WVA), Joe Donnelley (Ind) or Kay Hagan (NC). Not true conservatives of course, but within the Democrat scope, yeah.

Amen Sam, I hate Rinos as much as anybody, but I love them compared to Dummycraps.
Son that's somebody with nothing to do with his time but keep me in trouble with mom.
Allowing him to resign is too nice a send-off.

As for impeachment, a bare republican majority wouldn't matter - it takes a super majority.
I think deeper motives = ie Obama will try a controversial appointment as a means to boost dem votes. Or prepare Holder for SCOTUS. or both.
This country is so in the crapper. It basically has stage 5 government cancer.

1. Allow Secession
2. Abolish the 17th amendment
3. Abolish the 16th amendment
4. Shooot - abolish every amendment from the 14th on except the one that ended prohibition
That would be a good start.
