65 years old woman pulled over by drug taskforce because of Buckeye sticker on car

Just another daily reminder about the problems with our "war on drugs". One, a sticker is not probable cause, and two learn the difference between a Buckeye leaf and marijuana leaf!

Sweet. A one-sided story from a woman who was mad she got pulled over.

Maybe I'll get a bumper sticker that says "Cops Are ****"

Naw, how about "Cops are people too" :roll2::roll2::roll2:

Seriously, sometimes bumper stickers can bring unwanted attention to yourself.

I wish cops would pull all them minivans over with ones saying their little brat actually behaved in school and did their homework and I'm such a great parent................who cares!

Buckeye leaf symbol, marijuana leaf symbol. Close enough for government work especially viewed from a distance. :rotflmao:

And it's not like I-40 and I-75 aren't drug corridors through TN. The troopers and cops make lots of drug busts on both.

WHAT! Didn't they search her and the car? Where's the sniffer doggie? This old bat's a dealer! The whole football leaf dodge is a scam to conceal her real purpose. Book her, Danno!

Agreed. I posted this not long ago, but it's like guys who have a sticker saying "Protected by Smith & Wesson" and wonder why their vehicle got busted into while they were shopping.

Or young guys with a "Powered by Budweiser" sticker who wonder why they got pulled over for DUI at 2am Friday night.

She was mad because she was pulled her over for a bumper sticker. Not speeding, or broken tail light, or failure to use a blinker, or whatever excuse cops use to violate citizens. A bumper sticker.

The story is funny because a "drug enforcement" officer cannot ID a pot leaf.
The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me.

Stupid logic thinking a pot leaf decal would indicate possible possession.

Not as I see it. Just like the "Powered by Budweiser" sticker, a pro-pot sticker would lead anybody to guess that the driver might be holding.

The stupid thing was the mistake in IDing the Buckeye sticker.

I'm not buying this woman's story.
I have had gun stickers, pot even had a Rorer 714 sticker in the rear window. A pot smoking Quaalude popping gun owner and I never got stopped, imagine that.

You should have asked him if you should turn off off the motor and would he give you a push to get going when he is finished.

Yes that was stupid, but if you're a pot user the dumbest thing in the world would be to advertise it with a sticker on your bumper. A decal is not probable cause, and the whole thing was a waste of everyone's time.

Just an FYI on the I-40 and I-75 corridors. The cops stop more westbound cars on I-40 and southbound cars on I-75. They stop cars in the East and North lanes, respectively looking for drugs, but the West and South lanes have drug money from sales going back. The cops would rather have the money than the drugs.

The above is documented; I didn't make that up. Just a little slice of that 'war on drugs' that doesn't get aired in the news.

For some reason the Gestapo likes to watch the I-75 traffic around the Georgia/Tennessee state line just below Chattanooga. I've seen 'em lined up like buzzards just above the Chickamauga Battlefield several times.

The fact that they can seize any quantity of cash and the burden of proof is on the owner is also pretty questionable.

The fact that they can seize any quantity of cash and the burden of proof is on the owner is, without question, asinine and unconstitutional.

Wait. You're forgetting that you live in SoCal, which is an entirely different world from the east coast. And that makes all the difference.
