Like Alec said, as soon as you cover them with the barrel, shoot and keep your swing going, you will find you spot pretty quick, your probably going to dust them if they are close.

Sustained lead, as that is how I shoot with a rifle.
That makes it a wee bit more difficult especially if the birds are changing their 'angle of attack' ....ie starting to gain height as they get closer to the trees cos the difference in angle means the lead you have already calculated is going to be too short. ( I know I am stating the obvious )
Did you try extending the amount of sustained lead when you took those shots?.
Still enjoying the trip of a lifetime and making the best of what I have.....
Ha! It was happening so fast and furious as they came in waves...........I was just trying to keep shells in my gun!! It was rather hectic there at the end. I didn't know which end was up. No time to change or try something new. Just trying to kelp the perimeter from getting overrun.

Hunting birds under those circumstances ( fast flying jinking rockets) gives cause to invent more swear words............:roll2:
