Rule #1 make sure gun is unloaded and point in a safe direction before you start cleaning it!

Probably a Glock :devil::jester:

    Dang! Gonna be hard to 'shoot a bird' with his left hand! He done gone and shot off his birdie finger! :yikes:

    It's amazing how many people get hurt with a negligent discharge while cleaning their firearms .

    I have met him, and he had an event at his home for the United Way in 1996.

    Nice enough to us as a group but he seemed "full of anger". Beautiful home!

    Good thing his playing days are over.

    I know people that grew up with him. Typical jock mentality, not all athletes have it thankfully.

    Jose, there are two rules to gun safety that can never be ignored. 1) It's always loaded. 2) Never point it at something you don't intend to destroy.

    You ignored both. Sucks to be you.

    Some reports say it was a "High caliber" Ruger.

    About five years ago, I saw a program about him on TV. He wasn't doing so well. He was broke, had his house boarded up, was riding a motorcycle, had no friends because of his tell-all book. His consumption of so much steroids, he was shooting blanks, if he was shooting at all.

    Maybe he's done better. Who knows.

    When my brother-in-law shot a hole in his hand, because he fiddle with it (a Glock), the surgeon was able to patch it up and reconstruct the muscles & bones. I don't think he'll ever get 100% movement of his middle and ring fingers. He's lucky if it's 75 - 80%.

    So I think while they'll be able to reconstruct/attach the finger, I doubt if Jose will get full use of finger back.
