A Beech KingAir lost its left engine on take off and in attempting turn for an emergency landing crashed into the Flight Safety Building at Mid-Continent Airport (the building houses flight simulators) 4 dead, 5 injured.
They are unable to make entry into the building as the crash rendered it structurally unstable.... Prayers out to the families....

TV news said the plane was on it's way to Mena, AR. There's a private field there with a shop that does Magnafluxing for aircraft mostly. Don't know if that's relevant or not. Mena is South of Ft Smith on HWY 71. It's the area that what's his name fictionalized for his books about Roy Lee Swagger. The Ouachita Mountains, very rugged country. We'll be hunting them again this year only many miles East of that area on those curvy mountain roads. The range runs East and West instead of North and South.

Years ago in that area a private cargo plane crashed. C130, DC10? I can't remember but the pilot survived. Inconveniently it turned out. The Feds showed up an disappeared him. No kidding.

Rumors swirled and it took a while for the press reports to start trickling out. Covert ops South of the border. CIA involvement, drug running. Everyone was certain Bill Clinton was involved on some level but there's a reason they call him Slick Willie.

To be clear I in no way tie this pilot today to any of this and I too pray mercy on his soul and comfort for his family and those of the other victims.
Teach your children to love guns, they'll never be able to afford drugs
