9mm vs 45 vs ???

zorbazorba Posts: 25,290 Senior Member
Everyone knows a .45 is better than a 9mm except when it isn't. Enough of the mamby-pamby firecrackers! How about a REAL man's gun, an 800mm?

Just the thing for CCW!

No. The only brass I could find was starline.

Ha, gives new meaning to the term Big Bore! I've seen about those super guns on the Hitler Channel. Sorta glad he spent so much time and money chasing them Super Weapons and not on more practical stuff. There is a point of diminishing returns.

    Cool though, thanks for posting.

Go try and re-load for 20mm or 40mm why doncha, the DD tax alone will killya.
There could have been lotsOfun with recoilless rifles if not for the DD taxes.

Want a good one shot stopper ? Those old black power pistols .75 cal. did a good job of that.

Geez, you'd need a crane to pickup the brass and bullets.

Sure there is - the thought of having that thing aimed at you.:yikes:

Hitler sunk a lot of resources into stuff that ultimately proved foolish in the long-term strategic sense. The Tiger tank, for example, was a massive money pit that couldn't be produced in numbers. At 1200 RPM, the MG-42 tended to suck down more 8x57 than the factories could provide. The armchair historians tend to mock these things in hindsight, but it pretty much sucked to be a G.I. facing them.

    Just the thing for CCW!

Now, lemme predict a standard outcome here... Soon as you or I post that we'd really enjoy carrying that gun concealed but it's just a bit too big for easy concealment, there will be some critical posts that reply with something like:

"I have zero problems CCW with this weapon. I use the Crossangle Breedlove Custom Leather (Panda hide leather of course!) model BXXZ43-C. Do NOT get the BXXZ43-B! It's a hunk a junk! But with the "C" variation holster, the gun rides close and smooth whenever I go into town.

"Understand, I don't go into town all that much. I live 100% isolated here in Big Junzy (state name withheld so that the spy feds can't find me) and I send the little lady in once every 6 months so she can see the new dresses in the catalogs (of course I won't let her order such silly stuff -- she can sew pretty good and makes clothes for all the kids and the horses, too)...

"Anyway, I normally open carry that little cannon when I'm out checkin' the south forty for rustlers and hippies, but once a year I do go into town and then that model "C" holster works just fine. Of course I bought the special Yak-leather inlaid belt for the holster, otherwise it wouldn't work. And of course I do wear a shirt that's a couple sizes larger than needed, so the gun won't "print" when I bend over to grab some chawbaccky from the bottom shelf of thet there hardware store."

(as you can tell, I've got an empty Sunday planned, till the games come on at noon, so I had some spare time to randomly generate froth -- please feel free to add your own comments.) Such as:

"Well, Sam again is telling us how to carry concealed and giving us instructions. Everyone knows that the model "B" holster is the right one for the job! Sam just wants to use the model "C" holster so it will help him be more steely-eyed. Ya can't trust these ex-hippies for nuttin!"

Snort! You know these guys pretty well! :rotflmao:

But its no problem whatsoever in a thigh holster as long as your skirt is ankle or floor length! :jester:

Totally inadequate. Insufficient penetration if the BG is wearing 12 inch masonry armor!

Which of course then leads to a debate on whether the ammo was "good old" heavy flying ashtray type or that new hippie-type high velocity low mass bullet, which of course nobody uses except them empty-headed libtard guys.
