A North Carolina hunter was in for a surprise after he thought he shot a buck with eight-point antlers -- and it turned out to be a rare doe.
Chuck Rorie was hunting in Kansas when he thought he shot an animal with trophy-class antlers.
“I didn’t think much about it; it just looked like a nice buck when I was watching it and shot it,” Rorie told The Wichita Eagle. “But when I was skinning it I realized something didn’t look right."
According to The Wichita Eagle, this phenomenon is rare.
Keith Sexson, assistant secretary for the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, estimates he has heard of no more than 15 antlered does in 46 years.
“Excessive testosterone is why some women have more facial hair than others,” Sexson told the newspaper. “In deer, that’s expressed in antler growth.”
The antlers of the doe are about 115 inches and Rorie said he plans on getting the deer mounted.

Lots of times you see antlerless bucks too. I killed one about 26 years ago. It was an older deer too. And not a spike either. It was antlerless with balls and all the other equipment..
Son that's somebody with nothing to do with his time but keep me in trouble with mom.
Recoil is how you know primer ignition is complete.
