He did a lot more than saying he wanted to join ISIS. He traveled to Turkey in attempt to enter Syria and join ISIS, (which I believe is an overt act) and he made statements of his intent. I think Egypt deported him. Lots of other statements of his intent.

Traveled to Turkey, attempted to enter Syria in an attempt to join ISIS, and made statements. But he hadn't done anything yet. He was just traveling around with his head up his butt. Hell, if I ran things I'd be loading them up by the C-5 load and drop shipping anyone that wanted to join ISIS right in the middle of that mess. Gets them out of here. Their life expectancy in that mess over there isn't all that great.

That's exactly what he did that was illegal. He had pictures on his computer of airplane areas that could be used to conceal bombs. He was an aircraft mechanic with a knowledge of airplanes. He broke US law. You don't have to wait until someone pulls the trigger to arrest them for a threat of violence.

If the US waits until he joins ISIS and then kills someone, it's too late then to punish him. UBL existed for YEARS after 9-11 with thousands of people searching for him.

You seem to misunderstand Amendment One. The American Nazi Party, the KKK, the Aryan Brotherhood, the Black Panthers, and many others hate, but so long as they don't break any laws they're not prosecuted. By anyone. Hatred alone is not prosecutable.

Thank you. That was my point. Calling something a hate crime changes nothing, except it allows the feds to re-try a crime that the state has dismissed - double jeopardy, and unconstitutional. Holder could have re-prosecuted the policeman in Ferguson, had he been tried and found not guilty, simply by classifying it as a hate crime.

We're almost to 1984- - - -George Orwell just missed the date by about 30 years. The "Thought Police" are alive and well, and guess who they're planning on recruiting to run the operation?

Anyone who is attempting to join ISIS is scum to me, regardless of "what they're thinking." To hell with them. They deserve instant elimination. If that is not "liberal" enough, so be it. Nip it in the bud before they show up in an airplane with drawers full of C 4. No one can punish you for your thoughts, just for your actions.

I'm thinking down the tailramp, sans 'chute. Sort of a biological carpet bombing over any available ISIS/Al Qaeda camp.

Have them hold onto a cluster bomb for the trip down to help with the dispersal pattern.

You and I may have a different idea of the term "drop ship". My idea of drop ship is ISIS wannabes strapped into a huge bank of seats on rollers with belts that once closed cannot be opened. At 20,000 feet, rear ramp is opened, drogue chute deployed and the whole mess of 'em get snatched bald headed out the back. Repeat until none are left. Sort of like dumping the trash off the fantail of a ship, but at higher altitude.

Different versions, but the same result. Either way, all good with me!
