Concealed carry guy stops rampage -- Breitbart story

samzheresamzhere Posts: 10,923 Senior Member
Here's a story from Breitbart about a guy w. a concealed carry permit shooting a nut who was trying to shoot a lot of other people. Nutjob died, so sorry.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/03/30/concealed-carry-permit-holder-stops-gunman-during-mass-shooting/

Typical story that occurs all the time but is never, never reported by the drive-by media.

"Philadelphia Police Captain Frank Llewellyn said, “He responded and I guess he saved a lot of people in there.”

I see the good Captain is really heaping the Kudos on the guy who ended the situation.....

Stories like that where shots are fired, or not fired, happen with a lot of frequency. The "Guns Save Lives" website lists all of them that they can get. They aren't the 'lame stream media', though.

I bet it hurt for the Philly Police Captain to make that statement.

I am curious to know if the badguy was a licenced gun owner.

I sincerely doubt the baddie had a permit. The report didn't mention this and I think not.

If he was it would have been a headline.

For the most part....criminals in this country don't go to all the trouble of carrying legally. Additionally, most criminals have a record that would preclude them getting a permit.

To illustrate just how screwed up our legal system is, felons facing firearms possession/registration charges routinely get those charges dismissed because "attempting to register his firearm would violate his 5th. Amendment right against self-incrimination". My brother has actually used that defense strategy for some of his clients, AND THE COURT ACCEPTED THE ARGUMENT! How's that for messed up?

Well, law is about legality...not right or wrong. Sometimes, justice is stupid as well as blind.

We have a legal system in this country. Not a justice system. The two are not the same and any attempt to convince you otherwise is marketing.

    Isn't that from a movie?

Yep - the legal system only requires that 50.1% of the people think a law is just. A justice system, if possible, would require 100%. A talented lawyer can fill a jury panel from the 50.1% or the 49.9%, depending on how deep his clients pockets are. They believe very earnestly that a person is entitled to the best application of justice that money can buy.

Sadly, not many people are wise enough to understand simple logic, how anyone can think gun control works, only the law abiding obey gun laws, so how can you stop criminals that don't care to obey the law ?

Look at the famous LA bank robbers with automatic weapons, can you see how stupid gun laws and poor marksmanship did nobody any good ?
