Thanks

    A powder through die?
Concealed carry is for protection, open carry is for attention.

My die set included a "taper crimp die" that squeezes the case mouth tight against the bullet without putting a roll crimp on it that messes up the headspace. It's a good idea, and minimizes the tendency to get bullet setback while cycling or loading the first round from the magazine into the chamber.

I first got my first taper crimp die to load my 45 Colt. Reason was the lead bullets I use are the original Colt 255 grain lead bullet which doesn't have a cannalure. Works like a charm and you can really torque down the upper area of the case.

Assuming you are talking about Lee dies, the 4 die set has

    Decapping/sizing die
    powder drop/flanging die
    bullet seating die
    factory crimp die

If it's other than Lee, could be any number of things
