Yea!!! It is SCIENCE, none of that physics crap. And be sure to wear only the lab coat because everything else gets in the way of good science.

    And take lots of video.

Oh! I suppose if you're using the handgun ON the petulant twerp, that might work.

Personally, I wouldn't try it with cast.
Second, how often do shoot at a grand?
Come up my way when you attempt it and I will video for you.

Simple physics. I'll up my current twist rate by 2". I was already compressed with H110 so another powder might be in order. I have Pac Nor on speed dial but might like a different cut for the cast pistol bullets. 2-3 barrel blanks and some careful work up and this shouldn't be a problem. I hate petulant twerps pissing me off.

Peacemaker is a few hours away but make the trip a few times a year. They are good for about 1200 but I think they are working on 1500. I usually shoot the Dan Wesson to 500yds and have no problem ringing steel when I take it. 1moa is fairly typical from this gun with the 10". I'll be ordering a few 14" blanks with different rifling cuts to see which one gives the best results and spend a day doping it out to 1000 then grouping it. I'll also end up milling rails at +40 and +80 moa and see which works best as well. Now I hope the steel rails I have ordered polish up and match the blue on the gun. Still weighing my powder options. It's been about 20 years since I have been serious about this stuff but enough is enough. Just playing around I have turned a Mac 11 into a 1/2 moa suppressed takedown carbine. A $350 Wal Mart Remington 7400 into a 3/8 moa BAR magged EBR. Somehow I think I can take a competition firearm that already is pretty close to this already and with a longer custom barrel and load development meet or exceed this. And there will be video! I guess since I am doing this on my Dan Wesson I could take further discussion to the already trainwrecked thread and if the mods would move posts not related to the OP there I would appreciate it.

    HvyMAx,
    Chambering on the DW?
So how are you adjusting for distance at 500 yards on steel (Irons or optic)?
    Size of steel?
    Type of rest?

Now he's done it.... Throwing down ranges and guns to two guys that can shoot a handgun further than most walk in a week. I don't see any way out of this one.

Oh, Heavy we want witnesses too, and video.

    HvyMax,
So what cartridge are you going to use for your 1000 yard Dan Wesson Revolver challenge?
    Whose bullet(s)?
    BC's?
Which scope are you going to use?
    What kind of rest set-up?

Yep, but our resident blowhard does it all with a welder, a torch, a big hammer and a grinder. Sort of the Red **** school of gunsmithing approach!
