SIG 551-A1 Questions

Hey guys, considering adding to the "battle rifle" collection with one of these... They seem to be harder to find these days. Anything I should know about them? How hard is it to "convert" a stock 556 to the 551 furniture? Is there an issue with bolt/extractor wear on the receiver like the G3? Any tips, or advice on how to go about getting one for a better deal or easier than another?
