Cross bow value help
I received a Proline MXV many years ago. I've hunted with a few times but haven't hunted wiht a bow a lot. Now that I'm in Pa I want to hunt with a cross bow a lot more and went on my first bow hunt in this state today. When I went to knock a bolt I found the retaining spring was broken. I went to the LGS to get a piece of spring steel to repair it. When I brought it in chins hit the floor. "We never see a bow like that come in here". They asked to take pictures of it and post it on their web site. I understand this was one of the first cross bows made by Proline when man named Chuck owned it. I've tried to find something about the bow and owner on the net but haven't had any luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Can you find a history prior to Darton and what this bow is worth? I wouldn't mind trading this for a newer bow as it's just a tool to me.
I like Elmer Keith; I married his daughter

Those are my thoughts but I don't want to walk into a LGS without knowing what it is I have. I've only been in this area for four months. I feel it would be like walking in with a first Gen Colt peace make and being offered $100 for an "interesting old gun".
I've been trying to research this and found there are some folks that collect bows like we collect firearms.
