I spent a week twice just outside of Chicago for kiln burning school and cement milling school in 1983 and 84, went to a Black hawks game and there was no way I would spend anytime in that area. Prostitutes on every street corner.
Tried to find a gun magazine to read and there were none to be found until I checked at the airport, they sold them there.
When we were getting ready to board the plane the guy that was checking tickets noticed a pin I was wearing and asked me what it was, told him my NRA pin. He jumped back away from me and in all seriousness asked "where is your gun", not too bright.

Have no desire to go to that city again.

In my opinion, Chicago is way more screwed up now than when Al Capone owned all the politicians and most of the cops. The St. Valentine's Day Massacre is equaled nearly every weekend, these days, and nobody even seems to notice, much less feel outraged.

Chicago has it right. The municipal government and the police have created the environment for a perfect storm of intramural criminal violence - gang bangers killing gang bangers and drug dealers killing drug dealers. Two laudable goals the authorities could never have accomplished operating under the law. Yeah, once in a while an innocent kid or bystander gets capped, but overall, the collateral damage is still much less than it would be letting these thugs remain alive and well and doing their thing.

Other major cities should seriously consider studying and implementing the 'Chicago model' of Criminal Self Destruction.

The cops around Nashville call thugs and gangbangers shooting each other "public service murders"- - - - -as long as the collateral damage to bystanders/innocents is held to a minimum, they just save society a lot of time and money by avoiding running them through the revolving door "justice" system. No parole, early release, or time off for good behavior from the graveyard!
